Dr. William Albert Dennis, MD

IF DR DENNIS IS YOUR OB CHANGE NOW!!!! He forgot or ignored my issues w/ my 1st pregnancy. When I passed out during my 1st trimester he advised me to drink a coke... when it happened again I did indeed drink the coke and reported to Dr Dennis at he next visit. He scolded me for not reporting it to him, and seemed to have no recollection of our conversation where he had advised me to "drink a coke". During my last trimester I had several complications. My blood pressure was consistently high at each visit. The Dr advised me that a 190ish / 110ish blood pressure was fine as long as I lie on my left side for 10 mins or so (come to find out that is not the case). My daughter also had a tachycardia in the womb during the heartbeat reading performed by the nurse. The nurse promptly left the room and got the Dr. , when Dr Dennis listened to the heart rate he ushered me to the ultrasound room with out offering an explanation. When I inquired if something was wrong he simply replied...… "I don't know yet, let me look" It was not until afterwards he provided a couple medical terms like "tachycardia" and "hypertension" which I got no explanation for during the visit. I continued my pregnancy (braxton hicks, high blood pressure,and feet, legs and thighs swollen 5x the normal parameters, however, Dr Dennis advised this was all normal.) After being in labor for 2 days they finally figured out something was wrong with my progression. Long story short, my daughter was born after complicated labor... "Dr" Dennis fell ASLEEP when C-Section was needed!! I had already been prepped signed my paperwork, and was waiting for the Dr when he finally came into the room w/ a blanket on his shoulders 2 hrs after my C-Section was scheduled. Without saying 2 words to me, he said (to the Nurse) it was too late and my daughter had to come out now (because she had been stuck in my birth canal)... THEN HE LEFT THE ROOM!!!! The Nurse told me to push with everything I had as they called the respiratory team into the room because my daughter had been siting in thick meconium for God knows how long. By the grace of God she was born and the hospital staff ensured me she was a healthy baby girl. After 2 days we were released from RSFH. 8 hours after being released we rushed our newborn back to the ER due to a fever caused by the meconium she was forced to sit in for at least 24 hours. She was rushed by ambulance to MUSC Children's Hospital where they performed a battery of tests including a SPINAL TAP, (please let me tell you this is one of the hardest things you can watch your newborn go through) they subsequently admitted her to the hospital where she was the youngest patient to ever be admitted to the children's ward. I had to make due, with stitches from front to back (due to negligence) I could barely move and had to be pushed around the hospital in a wheelchair by my husband. That was a humiliating time for me, I wanted so much to be 100% for my daughter and I couldn't. The wonderful nurses at MUSC finally convinced me to sleep as they took a rotating round the clock shift watching over my newborn daughter. Thank you Dr Dennis for making my first delivery so memorable. My daughter now 3 yrs old has been diagnosed w/ Autism Spectrum Disorder (due to delivery complications). PLEASE DO NOT PUT THE LIFE OF YOUR BABY IN THIS MAN'S HANDS!!!! However, I have nothing bad to say about his nursing staff... they were always friendly and answered any questions I had. I have since had more children, a much better experience might I add (despite the life threatening issue of delivering my 2nd, thank you Dr Huggins of Partners OBGYN, I am forever in your debt)... Dr Dennis... thank you for providing me with knowledge in choosing an OB in the future. Your service has forever marked our family. I love my daughter with my entire being, however, you are quite possibly the reason for the struggle she will have to endure for the rest of her life.

I have never been disappointed by this physician or his practice. Professional and personal... outstanding care.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Dennis AND his staff. Thry are all so courteous and helpful. Dr. Dennis does not dance around answering questions that you may have and he answers then respectfully.

During surgery he lacerated my colon and said he discussed my surgery with his wife. Very poor bedside manor!!!

I like Dr. Dennis' direct manner. He is very knowledgeable and I never feel like he rushes out of the room. I'm due in a few days and have been to his office several times for all my prenatal care - I have been pleased the whole time! My husband likes him too, he's very direct and answers all questions calmly and thoroughly. His staff (Terry & Sam) are great and I only chose a 5 min wait time because they didn't have 0 as an option! They are always ready for me right on time.

Dr. Dennis was my OB/GYN through both my pregnancies. I actually enjoyed going to my appointments and would always laugh with him and the office staff. He is a straighforward and knowledgeable doctor. I would definitely recommend Dr. Dennis!

The worst bedside manner of a physician I have ever encountered.He did not inform me of possible complications prior to surgery and he caused complications due to his negligence.I have now learned the best place to research a possible physician is through court records for any pending legal actions.

I was convinced that I had a urinary tract infection but Dr. Dennis assured me that the pain associated with this was spasms inside the bladder. I left the office feeling a little confused and later found out I had a urinary tract infection that required two antiobiotics to clear up. He did not have the decency to call me and tell me himself. He left his office staff do it.

Dr. Dennis is an amazing Doctor.. He delivered my baby boy recently and the whole experience was fantastic. His care for me and my son during my 9 months of pregnancy were outstanding. He is kind, caring, and excellent at what he does. I would recommend him with confidence any time.

Dr. Dennis and his staff are wonderful. He is such a caring doctor. He was always just a phone call away if I needed him. Very personable and know his stuff. This was my first pregnancy and with twins no less! Felt very safe and secure in his care and will use him again if we get pregnant again. Wonderful doctor!!
