Dr. William John Dickerson, MD

This is the worst doctor I have had the displeasure of talking to in 57 years of life. He has no compassion, no empathy and lacks basic professionalism and kindness. "if you don't like it get another GI"...."your husband is dying....nothing I can about that". Steer clear of this man at all costs.

I have cyclic vomiting syndrome which was activated by my pregnancy and led to a hospital visit this summer. The Primary doctor at Plantation General asked Dr. Dickerson to come see me as a Gastro consult. He maybe said 3 words to me over my 4 day stay in he hospital. Clearly had no idea who I was and kept shuffling his papers to find my file. He recommended a liquid diet for me to eat while I was there, and that was it. So glad I have to pay him now for that great advice...Of course I needed to transition to food at some point, because, you know, pregnant. So the OBGYNs and Primary started adjusting my diet accordingly so I could eat and eventually go home. This doctor was waste of time and money.

I was seen by him inpatient in 2017. He billed me for 3 hospital visits when he only saw me once, and never even had a medical student, PA, resident, or nurse practitioner see me prior to that one disappointing visit on Friday. I was admitted on a Wednesday, and not seen until Friday, yet he had unsigned notes in the hospitals system for wednesday and thursday. His examination didn't count as an exam. He never bothered to ask me about any other GI conditions (which I have severe esophageal issues), and barely asked me about my admit diagnosis. He barely palpated my abdomen when my admission diagnosis was severe dehydration due to gastroenteritis, and his listening for bowel sounds was frightening. The nurses seemed to have far better training than he did. He came across like a true moron. I even asked the nurses if they were sure he was a physician. He came across as being THAT inept.

Do not go to Plantation Hospital. He is on of the worst, most condescending doctors I have ever dealt with. When I introduced myself, I put out my hand to shake his hand and he gave me two fingers...apparently he thought I was contagious, which I wasn't! He was in my room approximately 2 minutes and walked out without telling me a thing or saying his "exam" was complete. His exam consisted of literally, touching my stomach with his finger. A few moments after he walked out of the room, I called the nurse to ask if that was it, so she called him back in the room. I truly believe he would not have made another appearance if I had not summoned him to return. He told me that if I was expecting extraordinary care, I was in the wrong hospital, there is no "Southern hospitality" at that hospital. While he was answering my questions, on his second visit in the room, another person walked in and he said "what are you doing in here?" ... then he realized he was speaking in that tone to another… doctor. He is beyond reprehensible and his character, or lack thereof, does not exemplify a person who has taken the Hippocratic Oath to heart. Shame on you, Dr.

I would highly recommend you find another doctor. He is the worst! I tried to rate less then one star and it wouldnt allow.

I would have no idea about any of the above information as this office will not return my phone calls.Dr. Dickerson saw me in the hospital and I was supposed to call to schedule a follow-up appointment with him for 1 week. I have left numerous messages (approx. 5), and have yet to receive a return phone call.I would not recommend this Dr. to anyone!!!!
