I came to the emergency room experiencing extreme panic attacks and anxiety. I stated that I could not be alone at the time. He repeatedly asked in a demanding tone, " what are you wanting me to do?" He then made attempts at smart remarks meant to be jokes, loudly spent time talking to my attending physician on the phone so everyone could here my issues...and then returned to the room to tell me that there were three things he could do for me: 1. give me medication to help me relax and I could go home and take it ( a long drive incidentally)2. Get a counselor on the tv monitor to talk to me as there wasn't anyone in person that could do that, or 3. Get the mental health people to assess to see if I needed to go to the psych ward. He was completely uncaring, profoundly out of touch with the concept of anxiety or depression. blatantly obvious that he just wanted me to leave, no matter how I felt...and even said...you can go sit in your truck or the waiting room...this is a patient… care room. Keep in mind, I will be charged for my emergency visit and using that patient care room. There was no one in need of using the room at that time. I have never been treated so inhumanely by a medical professional in 54 years. He should not be allowed to treat patients with complete disregard. It begs the question that if he has not compassion...why is he working in a people profession.
