Dr. William Franklin Erber, MD

I have to disagree with some of the reviews I read. My experience with Dr. E has been nothing but positive. He performed several procedures on me two years ago and explained the results thoroughly. I returned to him today with new symptoms. Yes, he does like to talk, but he knows how to listen. I would recommend him. I'm sure retirement is inevitable down the road which concerns me. I hope and pray that his son will treat his patients and those that he inherits, with the same care and bedside manner as his father.

Amazing, AMAZING doctor!! Dr. Erber is your dream come true as far as confronting the taboo that comes with most doctors. He is patient, understanding, empathetic, and expressive in his diagnosis. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, the office is clean and presentable, and the wait time is never too long. It is so difficult to find a doctor who takes the time for their patients that they truly need, and Dr. Erber absolutely does that. He is inquisitive; he actually listens and interacts; and he goes into detail when explaining how symptoms work and relate to one another. The anxiety that builds when you are a new patient quickly dissipates as soon as you are brought in. This office is all around fantastic, and I highly recommend!

I agree with all the negative reviews below. this doctor actually made me cry and have a full blown panic attack. he is arrogant, uncaring and does not listen to the patient but just type in his computer. I left without even a prescription and his salutation was, telling me I have more problems than he can deal with in fifteen minutes. he certainly should consider retirement as soon as possible. he needs rest and to learn a bedside manner.

i totally agree with the last three coments listed below, nothing have to add, long long wait time, however, probably diagnosis he makes are accurate

Dr. Erber spends more time talking than he does listening. He likes to hear himself talk and rushed me when I tried to explain exactly how I was feeling. He talked down to me and had an arrogance about him. I did not have a good feeling in this office. He may have some good skills as a diagnostician but his people skills are lousy.

We chose Dr.Erber because he was listed in the "Best Doctors of New York" book as a prominent gastroenterologist, and were hopeful when our mom went to him. Our disappointment is devastating. He was rude, abrupt, inattentive. Mom spent two hours in a freezer-temperature waiting room just to get 7 minutes of doctor's time. He paid no attention to anything she said about her condition, and was only concerned with scheduling procedures. I understand, insurance pays more for a procedure than for a visit, and it was obviously the main interest and main driver of the visit. Maybe Dr. Erber was a knowledgeable and attentive doctor in the past. Now he shows no interest, to the point of being disgusted by patients. Maybe it's time to leave the medical field?

Dr. Erber's patients highly regard his understanding, thorough work and intensive and effective follow-up. His discussions with patients are invaluable.

This physician is a complete professional. Other doctors should seek to emulate his fine example.
