Dr. William Alan Erwin, MD

My mother went to dr. Erwin and he had a PET scan done on her and he came in to talk to us after reading it and just plainly said she had cancer. But we didn't like his manner so we went to a different dr and they said no it wasnt cancer. So we had a bad experience with Erwin. If you go to him always get a 2nd opion

Was recently diagnosed with sarcoidosis and dr Erwin is very familiar with this disease..very nice doctor

I have suffered from recurrent bouts of pneumonia, bronchitis, and pleurisy for almost 15 years. I have gone to several primary care doctors over the years and one other pulmonary expert in the Hickory area. The first doctor told me that all of my problems resulted in having 2 smoking parents even though I am a non smoker. When my present primary care physician suggested that I see another expert, I chose Dr. Erwin. I am so glad that I did. After periodic CT scans and the lung infections still there, he suggested a bronchoscopy. FINALLY, we know that I have a super rare bacteria growing in my lungs that was picked up from the air. We now know how to treat this chronic infection. Thank you, Dr. Erwin.

Dr Erwin was very informative, very easy to talk to and took time to explain all questions that I had. I would reccomend him to anyone that needed a pulminary dr.
