Dr. William Steadman Farmer, MD

My husband had surgery on his forehead by another surgeon in Dr. Farmer's practice. We called the on-call line in the middle of the night because I couldn't get my husband to stop bleeding. He is on multiple blood thinners and has dementia and kept ripping his bandage off. Dr. Farmer went into the office in the middle of the night to stop my husband's bleeding! He was so kind and calmed my husband down and myself right away. I felt so bad for waking him up and wish I had called before it got late. I am so incredibly appreciative.

I saw Dr. Farmer for skin cancer on my face which I was embarrassed that I had let it grow so large. I was very nervous about the procedure, but he calmed me down. He was incredibly kind and had great bedside manner. He is a man of few words and gets straight to the point which I appreciate. He explained what would happen and the possible outcomes and did not sugar coat anything. He likes to listen to music when he is operating and includes you and/or the nurse in the conversation, all of which really helped to relax me. I could tell he had done this a million times by the way he was able to have a full conversation while doing the procedure. He could probably do it with his eyes closed. I was nervous how it would look when I took off the bandage. His stitches were impeccable and look like a sewing machine did them. I was surprised that I wasn't in any pain after the procedure and didn't require any pain medication, even Tylenol. I had no problems with bleeding even though he told me… not to stop my two blood thinners. The scar was right in my smile line and now you can hardly notice it. When he was done the surgery, I asked him about a rash I had had for years and had even been to several dermatologists about. I anticipated that he would tell me to go back to the dermatologist that referred me and that he only does surgery, but instead he immediately knew what the rash was and sent me in a script. I've never had to deal with it again. He's a genius. I would highly recommend him to my friends and family.
