Dr. William Taylor Fithian III, MD

In 1995 I became involved with some dishonest Jewelers in Carmel Ca. I didn’t realize what I had gotten myself into until it was to late. I found myself in the Salinas Ca. Jail for 5mo.3wks and 4 days. I am no seasoned criminal. I already had ptsd and neurological damage from a car accident . I honestly wanted to die in that awful place. I informed the extremely cruel correctional officers that dwell there that I intended to starve myself to death! I meant it. Into my cell entered Dr. Fithian! My Hero! He understood after softly talking to me....from that day he had them bring me from my isolated cell (ordered by Dr Fithian) to see him, three times a week. He made sure I received Valium so I could endure this mad house. He counseled me every time I visited him. He spent time with me, he could see I couldn’t handle jail otherwise. Once, a jealous female guard got mad at me for crying on a day the Dr. was not coming in. So she takes me to the padded room. Stripped me and left me in the… cold room. I was there most of the night into early morning when Dr Fithian unexpectedly showed up. He had to walk past the cell I was sufferingvin. He had me out immediately . Later, after I was released, I briefly dated one of the male officers. We attended the Monterey County Sherrifs Christmas party at the Doubletree hotel. Guess who asked me to dance?! Dr Fithian. I’ll remember you forever. You made me feel valuable in my darkest time. You watched over me for those 5+ months. You saved my life. I’m doing fabulous now, thanks to the professional kindness I received from this one of a kind human being. Dr. Fithian. I hope we meet again. ?? Thank you. Sandra Turajlich
