Dr. William Lee Freund, MD

I had hernia surgery performed by Dt. Freund. During the surgery the catheter was improperly removed which in turn caused blood clotting and prevented urination. After multiple attempts of my wife calling Dr. Freund and the staff and being told that what I was experiencing was normal I went to my hometown doctor. I was immediately taken to the ER and then traveled by ambulance to KU Med Center. I spent 4 days in the hospital recovering from the complications of my hernia surgery.

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Freund and the entire medical support group of KU Medical. My surgery went flawless this morning and I walked out before noon today. I am having very little discomfort and have taken NO pain pills. Thank You Dr. Freund / KU Medical

He did a complex abdominal wall hernia surgery on me. Had to have a colostomy and then a reversal on the colostomy at another hospital. Herniated at the old colostomy side and at the umbilical where my first open abdominal incision was made. I tell you he and his staff are fantastic. Got me all fixed up I would highly recommend him.

I had a port placed and during placement it was infected with a hospital acquired infection thus the operating room was compromised. I believe the surgeon did not follow protocol with placement. he was also dishelved late and his cloths were dirty.

I couldn't be happier with Dr. Freund. I have had many operations but have never had better care than when I was with Dr. Freund. He is a great surgeon and has a great bedside manner. He really made me and my family feel comfortable during a difficult time. We would recommend Dr. Freund to anyone. Hands down best doctor we have been to.

He's a great doctor

We needed a surgeon who knew his stuff, and could get the job done. Dr. Freund was easy going, patient, knowledgable, and confident for my family member's somewhat complicated case. Dr. Freund was great, exactly what we needed. He took the whole patient into account when making decisions about the procedure. When we had problems after, he was super fast to address them while creating as little headache for us as possible. He was great about educating us so that we could troubleshoot future problems at home first, without having to drag my sick relative back to the hospital. I would recommend him to anyone.

We are very fortunate to have this wonderful surgeon in our community! He actually listened and took time to understand my concerns!
