Dr. William Loy Gillaspie, MD

Not a good history with Doctor Gillespie. Transferred after my PC retired and I didn't look up reviews before making the jump. Gillespie immediately declared that my other doctors had been wrong to prescribe what they had and that I should use another, older anxiety medication. After switching I started experiencing spasms in my chest/diaphram. When I reported them he dismissed them. After another month they got so bad that I had to stop taking the medication. He refused to go back to the original so there was nothing to do but stop without any tapering. Dr. Gillespie denied any conversations took place and tried to deflect as 'miscommunications' when his own notes were shown to contain the discussion. Months later and I'm still experiencing the spasms. Online research suggests these might be permanent. His performance not only failed to help but caused damage, possibly permanent.

I love that Dr. Gillaspie is my doctor. I have been going to him for over 10 years. He is amazing, compassionate and a darn good doctor. He listens to you and works with you to develop a treatment plan that is best. I can't recommend him enough.

He contradicted what I said on more than one occasion to maintain his preconceived ideas. Always be ready to change doctors or get a second opinion if you see him.

Does nothing to help chronic pain for seniors. A "tylenol and walk it off" type of doctor for persisting pain
