Dr. William Morgan Greene, MD

Dr. Greene is clearly incompetent. He was unable to find any psychiatric issues with me, only that I had epilepsy. I was referred by the IPN program from the Board of Nursing. His psychiatric diagnosis was: Problems related to other legal circumstances. Other problems related to employment. He said I was not safe to practice because I had a seizure disorder and a bad attitude towards IPN. His recommendation was a multi-day comprehensive eval to include a psychological testing battery to further clarify the situation. The situation was I was arrested for my seizure disorder. All he needed to do was a psych eval. He couldn't even do that. What an incompetent and unethical doctor. I would avoid him! He does not care about his people, only his billing practices. I'm sure IPN pays him just enough to get out on the boat every weekend.

How do you choose between incompetent or just plain idiot? This doctor new I had been taking Xanax for roughly 30 years and thought it would be a good idea for me to stop taking it overnight and start taking anti-depressants the next day. He works at V.I.S.T.A. which is joke and does not help anyone! He assured me that I would be fine. I was not. I landing in one hospital the next weekend, and another hospital the following weekend for 9 days going through all the symptoms of withdrawal. Once I got home and had my Xanax refilled all the horrible effects (disillusions, paranoia, confusion, vertigo) when away. Interesting that when they realized that my insurance was not going to pay them and that I receive special help from UF Health that covers all my expenses I was out the door is less than 72 hours. Other doctors would have spent 3 months bringing me down off the Xanax before stopping the Xanax. I have no clue what was going on but would not recommend this doctor to anyone. And if… you need help with your medication do not go to V.I.S.T.A., they are only interested in the money, not your welfare. Also, do not go to this doctor, Dr. William M. Greene, MD. (idiot)

Dr William Greene is very educated and besides that HE ACTUALLY CARES so I believe that if he was left with less than at least 4 stars it's because someone didn't get to manipulate him and they don't like it.

Dr. Greene is by far the best psychiatrist that I have seen. He is a brilliant clinician who has prescribed the right medicine for me. Also, he is very compassionate, approachable, and easy to talk to because he really listens. Though he is young, his wisdom is considerable. This wonderful doctor is also a good husband and father and is beloved by his office staff.

Spent 7 months involuntarily under the 'care' of this man. Left me with PTSD only now in remission, 6 years later (hence my lack of reviews before this time--just thinking of my experience under his care would lead to debilitating, rolling flashbacks). He is a misogynist who delights in having girls and women under his complete control. Under his 'care' he completely fabricated an addiction history for me. As unbelievable as it sounds, this physician actually gets off on being cruel and demeaning to his patients. Highlights of my time under his 'care' include, but are not limited to being called a sl*t by Daniel Logan as he eagerly nodded; being accused of prostitution; being accused of being 'unemployed' and 'a college drop out' despite my only reason for not starting my senior year, or having a job being that I was unable to leave FRC because of the Marchman act he served me; forced to wear pearls, a headband, and makeup for reasons I never quite understood, including a session in… which, when one day I showed up to his office without makeup, being shown a photo taken of myself at intake when wearing the aforementioned products and asked 'now. Can you tell me the difference between you now and this picture?". The specific nature of a lot of his abuse is too personal to list here. Suffice it to say, run for the hills. Ironically, his 'care' created the most severe mental health issue that I've ever had to deal with, and which lasted 6 excruciating years. While most of my PTSD symptoms are now in remission, I still have a tremor in my hands as a result of the profound, prolonged abuse and anxiety I experienced under the authority of this man. I hope that one of these days he will be held accountable for his actions.

Absolutely the most hideous human being, ferocious personality, run do not walk! Go to any site and this inept addictive psychiatrist gets 1 star always. It is disgraceful that he is on the staff of anything to do with the fine reputation of Shands hospital. Truly appalling. Frightening, in fact!

If you've already seen this physician, I'm sorry. If you haven't, please heed the reviews here. Spare yourself or someone you care about from this guy... he is the worst of the worst. Harmful, damaging, awful sham of a doctor.

What I will remember the most about my experience with Dr. Greene is the hour long trip home listening to my girlfriend crying, and the hopeless look she had. Please if you have a loved one find another doctor to take them. Over the last several years, unfortunately addiction is something my girlfriend has been forced to fight. I used to think all addicts were weak, selfish, and pathetic. What I learned is addicts are some of the strongest, passionate, and intriguing people on earth. There is never a dull moment with addiction. Unfortunately, especially for people first seeking treatment, Dr. Greene will suck whatever hope they have out. His diagnosis also seems to match up with exactly what your insurance will pay for, ! For all loved ones, please find another doctor who cares, I don't wish addiction on this doctor. However, the only way he will ever understand addiction is if someone he loves becomes an addict. Then maybe he will learn by giving addicts hope instead of ridiculous… amounts of in-patient treatment for his own financial gain. I would not send my worst enemy to this doctor. He does not care. He is not understanding at all and the only best interest he has is how he can financially gain from his false diagnosis.

I have never written a negative or even moderate review of a physician before, but feel compelled to make an exception for this deplorable doctor. He treated me as an inpatient when I voluntarily admitted myself for substance abuse issues. While hospitalized I was treated neither for depression or anxiety, which were at the core of my dependency problem. When I was discharged, he sent me out "AMA" (against medical advice), because I was not agreeable to continued treatment at the residential inpatient center he is affiliated with. A continued stay in this program meant continued time out of work, and a cost that was estimated at $11,000 per month. Because I declined his recommendations (which would have financially devastated my family), he denied me any prescriptions, essentially leaving me without any medical treatment for the problems which had led to my addiction issues. His bedside manner is uncaring and detached; he actually openly ridiculed me in front of the rest of the… medical team. Instead of receiving the help I needed, I felt completely traumatized. If you're looking for an addiction specialist, I'd look elsewhere, even if it means going out of area. I only hope I can provide someone else the benefit of my experience to spare even one more person from being subjected to further mistreatment by this absolute disgrace to his profession.
