Dr. William Downer Hardin, MD

Dr. Hardin was rude and condescending. He was also very cliche and made a lot of assumptions instead of listening to his patient. I would not recommend taking your child to him unless you have no other choice. He obviously has medical knowledge so I'm giving him an overall 2 stars, hopefully he chooses to apply his knowledge in a helpful and productive manner as he continues to grow in his career.

Questions are met with rudeness and a derisive tone. I found his biography on the LHV website amusing, as it states that he cares about his patients and their families. Thankfully, I was able to bring my concerns elsewhere. A parent should not have to deal with condescension when already concerned for their child's well being, particularly when that child is in distress and non-verbal.

"Corrected" my 5-year-old son's penile adhesion. The doctor said the topical numbing agent would not help, so he could not even be troubled to apply the medication. My son had to endure this procedure on his sensitive parts with nothing at all to dull the pain. The result was him screaming in pain and in need of two people holding him down while the doctor proceeded to "correct" his adhesions. My son was traumatized. I would hate to have any other parent or child to have to go through this.

Dr. Hardin was an amazing surgeon! My son had to have emergency surgery when he was just 6 weeks old! Being a first time mommy, nervous was only one of the words I was feeling that day. Dr. Hardin made sure I was informed on everything detail of my son's operation. He allowed me to meet with the anesthesiologist before the surgery, allowed me to meet with the other surgeons that would be assisting him and made sure I was as comfortable as I could be. As promised, he had a nurse call me when the surgery started in the waiting room. And while it was only a 26 minute surgery, it was the longest 26 minutes of my life. Instead of receiving a phone call in the waiting room after surgery, Dr. Hardin walked into the waiting room and told me that my son did wonderful during the surgery and that I could see him in recovery in about 2 hours. I hugged this man and cried! My son had his follow up appointment 6 weeks later and I have the most precious picture of this wonderful man holding… my precious baby! I will always always always admire, respect and refer anyone to him! He is such a kind and gentle soul and he helps heal children! He definitely has a special place in heaven!

I was a long term patient of Dr. Hardin's. My case was assigned to him shortly after I was born. I was his patient up until he moved to Pa. He is an excellent doctor and exceptional surgeon. I am so very thankful for the oppurtunities that he has given me.
