Dr. William Russell King, MD

I have had Dr. King since he came out of Med School. He was a lot young and his hair was a lot redder then. He has done a great job for myself, my wife, and our children. I only trust two doctors in Kansas City and he is one of them. I am glad that he is still around. I would not even think about going to a different doctor right now.

Dr King has no bedside manners no smile and makes rude remarks. Doesn’t follow up on things and he and staff can’t seem to either get prescriptions called in or they get them wrong. Wouldn’t recommend to no one

I have a patient with Dr King since he came in under Dr Johnson. I even traveled back from Omaha to see him when I lived there. He is very personable and since half of my family have also been patients, he has a very good understanding of my overall health. I have fibromyalgia and he has always been open and suggestive of alternative therapies instead of just pushing drugs. I have noticed that like some of the others have mentioned, that he is doing more of the drug push since Providence Medical center took over. Cristina, his nurse is awesome. She always calls and follows up when I have tests, etc. That office staff is another story. They're typically rude, curt and if it wasn't for Dr. King, I wouldn't step foot into this office. It's why I'm only giving him 4 stars. I think they need to re-think their office staff.

Doctor is the best, people at front desk can be very trying.

Dr. King is the type of doctor that will patiently listen to any issues or concerns you might have regarding your health. He never rushes or seems distracted. Also, he is willing to listen to your ideas regarding what you believe might be beneficial to your medical issue and try different medications and alternatives. If you feel you need to have a test conducted for something that might be of concern, he always makes sure to get those arrangements made for you. Also, his Medical Assistant, Christina, is a great asset to Dr. King. She is very efficient at her job, very personable and just an all around nice person. I will always stay with Dr. King and the Family Medical Group!

Dr King has many senior citizens and children for patients and they always seem to clog the waiting room. His bedside manner went by the wayside as his practice grew and he doesn't spend much time with each patient. He has probably 10 full exam rooms at a time and it seems like he is trying to bust a record to see how fast he can get through all of them.He missed the fact that I had a serious heart problem until after my heart attack. He only dispenses the high-priced drugs, unless you insist you want the generic. The drug company salesmen bring in a big lunch for the office every week... is that influence peddling?If you don't have insurance, forget it. He doesn't do any charity work.He has never followed up with me on anything... I have to call him.

Dr King has always had a caring attitude and actually listens to his patients. I don't think he spends as much time with his patients these days but he is a very popular doctor, which makes his days very stretched. He is open and encourages alternative therapies and I can usually get in same day if really needed. Since I don't call unless I am really in need, they typically get me worked in. The staff is not nearly as professional or caring as the doctor. Although most of them have been long term, they do nothing for promoting a feeling of comfort. He does have a pretty efficient nurse so that definitely helps. Would definitely recommend.
