Dr. William Hartwell Kober, MD

I saw this person several years ago. I am reviewing some of my medical records and came across my notes for Kober. I feel compelled to write a review. I was a new patient and had waited months to get in to see him. After all the wait and anticipation here is what happened: I had read about a new blockbuster drug that was everywhere in the news. recently approved by fda, and patients were having great success. This was all over network nightly news, morning shows gma, today etc, and headline articles on yahoo! and the like. Afriend was on this medication and said it was life changing. I was eager to learn about this and see if he could help me with it. When I brought it up, he had never heard of it. I told him it was newly approved and getting a lot of press. he said "I don't do my research on the internet." Unbelievably rude and condescending. he could have taken a note, looked it up, or said he hadn't been familiar but he would look into it. he could have even referred me, Instead he… quickly wrapped things up since that was my sole reason for being there and he was no help. aS i was leaving, I did not feel satisfied that I would be brushed off like this and would have to find a new provider, on the way out of the office, iasked through the glass window if I could speak to the dr for a moment. I wanted to see if he could make a rec, or at least tell me how i should proceed. he was behind the glass and walked up to the window and said "what's up?". i was not going to air my questions in the waiting room and in front of his office staff, so i asked if i could speak to him for a second. he came to the waiting room door and opened itr and stood in the doorway holding the door open w his foot. i am still in the waiting room mind you. i basically asked what i should do and how could i find a providerr who was familiar w this medication (Qsymia), and he said "just call around I guess" and practically let the door close in my face. the worst med experience I have ever had. he was clueless and then rude. he offered no help. i guess he didn't want to admit he didn't know about something and was uninterested in actually doing any work to help. horrible!!

I have headaches. probably from playing sports my whole life and getting nocked in the head. they were so bad that i couldn't sleep. he prescribed me Amitriptyline to help me sleep and took me off birth control at the same time because he thought the headaches were related to anxiety or my BC. Amitriptyline is a drug is for anxiety and bipolar disorders. he made me feel uncomfortable to go to the doctors and incredibly stupid. at the same time- made my body feel out of whack because these are two strong medicines that change your body. If i could give this person a negative two stars, i would.

I have had Dr Kober for 6 years and everything was great until he had to do doctor. 2 years of bouncing from non referrals to no referrals. Nothing but lies. He is over his head with other patient and has been a good dr in months. I can’t wait to get a new dr that doesn’t just think of his patience as a pay check!!!

I have had several Doctors in the past, but none have been as caring, willing to listen, joke a little, when appropriate, know about rare conditions and how to treat them as well as Dr. Kober. He also strives to help his Patients in anyway possible, even though we don't always like to hear it.

I have been going to Dr. Kober for three years. I think he is wonderful. I never feel like he is rushing me out the door and he listens anything that I have to say. His exams are thorough and not too long and drawn out. I would highly recommend him!

Like the previous reviewer, I never saw Dr. Kober but instead saw a Physician's Assistant (after waiting 3+ hours!!!). I was told the doctor would call later that day with instructions but nothing. I was finally contacted to be told that a prescription for VICODIN had been called in for me. WHAT? I wasn't even in any real pain!!!! Then they made a referral to an orthopedist I had never even heard of with an appointment for a MONTH away. I did talk to someone in the office - she refused to identify herself - who had TONS of attitude. Never again for Dr. Kober or this facility... EVER!!!! Why can't we give ZERO stars?

Awful, awful experience. Never saw the actual doctor William Kober. So I'm not rating his knowledge or skills in any way. One obvious thing was that he is RIDICULOUSLY over scheduled. I would not give even a star to this doctor's assisting staff. Disorganized medical assistant or who ever she was with HUGE attitude problems. People like her should not be hired to work with people. Don't waist your time with Dr. Kober unless you are willing to wait for months to be seen and get treated poorly by his staff.
