Dr. William Paul Kuentzel, MD

I genuinely believe Dr. Kuentzel is one of the best psychiatrists in Salt Lake City. While his billing methods might be a little complicated (you have to submit forms to your insurance yourself) and his office is somewhat older (I think it's charming), neither of these things are a reflection of his ability to treat people. After seeing numerous psychiatrists who misdiagnosed me and ignored my concerns about certain medications, I came across Dr. Kuentzel. He doesn't believe in using a one-size-fits-all approach and will really listen to your needs. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Not sympathetic. Cold. Rude. And, quite frankly... wrong.

MD was prompt wth apt, but, my son, who is the patient and called to make the apointment and insure he accepted our insurance was not informned at that time that the patient would have to pay for the services up front at the end of apt and then the patient would need to submit claim to ins co. for reimbursment. Due to his current altered mental state he paid for service with the last of his savings and we will not be getting reimbursed......that info would have been helpful up front,

Considering the location I was very surprised by the outdated, and dingy decor. Also, there was no receptionist, and there is not much of an answering service. Dr. Kuentzel also required a ridiculous amount of paperwork, (totaling two hours), which he did not review or reference. He did however follow up, and personally return my calls.
