Dr. William Edwin Lavigne, MD

I was under his care throughout my entire pregnancy and on my 37th week appointment I had my worst and last experience with Dr.Lavigne. My weight was taken and I had lost ONE pound “which most moms do at the end of pregnancy” He and a female nurse walked in and proceeded with my appointment. Dr. Lavigne looks at his chart and says “I see you’ve lost a pound” I responded with yes my appetite has gone down a lot , he then ask me if I was a cigarette smoker and I replied NO , he asked did anyone smoke in my home again I replied NO ,then he asked if I smoked marijuana! Again I don’t do either. So I replied NO ! After that he looks at me and ask well why are you starving your baby !??? I was completely outraged and disrespected to the fullest at this point. I had never been so insulted in my life especially with “my doctor” whom is suppose to handle his patients in a professional manner. I told him how unprofessional he was and how he should reword what he was saying to me because it was… very disrespectful , but he didn’t and proceeded to insinuate that because I had gone down ONE pound I was definitely starving my baby ,at that point I was completely done with my appointment and didn’t even get checked because it. He didn’t try to call afterwards or sort this out as if his misconduct was “normal” practice.This was the worst I had ever been treated and I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone let alone an expecting mother.

I went to see Dr. Lavigne for the first time about a month ago because of the reviews I saw on here. The appointment went actually quite well with the exception of the long (45 min +) wait time to be seen. Dr. Lavigne was great at asking me questions, explaining himself and listening to my concerns. The number of stars on my reciew are because of the female who handles the lab results. I was told on my way out that I would be contacted in regards to my blood work only if something was wrong. I never received a letter, text, email or phone call so I assumed everything was fine. Something told me to call yesterday just to be sure.....when I called the female referenced above picked up, asked me for my name and very quickly and nonchalantly said "yup looks like your (c protein?) came back high so we will get a prescription called in for you before the end of the day ok?"....me not knowing what the protein was called, what it being high meant AND knowing that they don't have a pharmacy on… file because I never gave them one, I said "hold on, could you explain that?" Sounding annoyed she says "it just means there is an infection somewhere in the body, we aren't sure where but we will get that anibiotic called in for you, ok?"..... My response was "do you know where you're sending it to?" She asks me to give her a min and then comes back on the line and acknowledges that they do not have a pharmacy on file for me.... I give her my pharmacy info and chalk it up to *maybe she's having a busy day*..... Fast forward to over 24 hours later, I go to my pharmacy and surprise surprise, there is nothing there for me. I called with 3 questions, 1) what happened to my prescription? 2) what was the name of the protein (so I could do my own research) and 3) since it has been almost a month, is there any reason to take this prescription now?.....When the said female gets on the phone today, she sounds just as rushed and annoyed with me as she did yesterday. So after asking my first question she tells me "let me call them now, give them about 15 min" (mind you I have a newborn so I'm already home). I get to my second question and she tells me the name (c reactive) of the protein, she again tries to get me off the phone. I ask her to please slow down so I can get to my third question and she proceeds to tell me that she is answering all my questions and I explain that I had already didn't like her rushing me yesterday and that I would like her to take a little more time explaining and listening to me today. She tells me that "to get respect, you have to give it". I NEVER ONCE raised my voice, spoke rudely, or disrespected her before this. At that moment, I asked to speak to someone else and I was told that she would not transfer the call. I demanded after that, that she let me speak to someone else and I was hung up on. I am not going to call back, nor am I ever going to return to the office. I have worked in customer service since I was 17 (I am now almost 27) and even though I am a stay at home now, I still remember that even on my busiest days and days where I had personal things going on, that every customer deserved the same respect. I can tell by the reviews that this must not happen very often but it did this time and I will not be returning nor will I be referring anyone here because of it.

Dr. Lavigne just happened to be the on-call OB/GYN at University the day that I came into the ER. His kindness and knowledge meant so much to me while I was in such awful pain. He has a way of making you feel like you're his only patient, even though I know he's a VERY busy man. His bedside manner is by far the best that I've ever experienced! His office waits are quite long to be seen, but he is worth every single minute, because I know he is taking the time to treat every patient with care and respect (just like he treated me!)

He's a great doctor! But his office needs some MAJOR work! They never give him messages even after you call multiple times! He's on top of all of the up to date information for sure!

I absolutely love Dr Lavigne he took care of me the whole 9 months. Perfect c section no pain no nothing !

Dr. Lavigne delivered my 2 oldest children and both experiences were so wonderful I referred him to friends and they loved him also! A class act with great bed side humor!

the best doctor I have ever known

Hes a very smart doctor he delivered both of my babies via c-section but depending on the day you see him he can be rude or in a bad mood.

Dr. Lavigne is the BEST doctor!! During my pregnancy, he was really attentive and very particular about evaluating every aspect of my health during my pregnancy! He did not miss a thing and I could not have been in better care!!!

I have been visiting doctor lavigne for a number of years. He' a great doctor and he know his speciality. But whoever he has filing the insurance claims doesn't do well. Whenever I go for my annual they always submit the claim wrong which cost me extra money. If a patient calls in and state they are getting a yearly check and you find something during the exam it still suppose to be filed as a preventive care, but your office changes the medical code to get the monies from insurance company, patients, and from HRA accounts. You still get paid, so why rip off your patients. Do it the correct way and schedule the patient another appointment to come back for the issue discovered during the prenventive care exam. That's not fair to the patient.
