Dr. William Stewart Lawrence, MD

Dr Lawrance was my Dr while I lived on the Big Island "03-07". Small world we were from same area in TN his HS played my HS in football. He found the melanoma on my arm and sent me to Queens North Hospital for removal. Staff was always friendly and remembered your name.

I have gone to this doctor over ten years. I like him enough, but since he moved to Waime the office organization is so bad. Especially where the office is open only 3 days a week. It is painfull to schedule any office visits and getting other things scheduled like CT scans etc is terrible. Hospital never gets your paperwork. I am so disappointed with this office and the lack of care for its patients.

Been seeing Dr. Lawrence since the first day he moved to Waikoloa, Hawaii. He told me I had something wrong with my heart and so decided to send me to see Dr. Cogan, the best cardiologist. If it were not for Dr. Lawrence, I believe I would have died by now!!!

I considered this doctor to be a friend of mine, he was a coworker. That did not matter. When I came to him for help with my newly diagnosed scoliosis, the only suggestion he made was surgery, spinal fusion! he did not care, he did not listen, he did not read materials brought to him, he suggested surgery!!!!! which was all contraindicated. he took zero time with me, he criticized me for having a bunion fixed on my very painful foot. he then left me with an improperly done EKG that indicated I had a Mitral Infarct (heart attack), he sent me to another incompetent colleague who misdiagnosed my problem and I had to wait in worry for a month prior to learning I had no heart problem except for a technician who did not know what they were doing when they did my EKG. all unnecessary and done out of greed for the money he expects from Medicare, shame on you!

Very patient in explanations, this Doctor is a rarity on the Big Island. He is thorough in his examination, knows exactly how to prioritize treatment yet very simple and humble.I would highly recommend him as a physician to trust.
