Dr. William J Malone, MD

My sister-in-law had an appointment with Dr. Malone. She had thyroid issues before a pregnancy and was medicated for them. After the birth her hormones were understandably out of the norm and her medication was increased. Soon after she started suffering from terrible anxiety, panic attacks, nausea, and loss of appetite. Her hormone levels were very obviously still in a dangerous place. Here mental state was very poor and she was suffering terribly for a few weeks (all with a newborn). She looked at the effects of over medication of the thyroid medication she was on and she was exhibiting every symptom. Thinking she had finally found the issue (something that perhaps the doctors should have been monitoring?) she made an appointment with Dr. Malone to see if she could be correct, get blood testing for hormone levels, and get his opinion. He was dismissive, begrudgingly sent in for the blood tests, and told her that she was wrong and just had to wait it out as it was just normal… postpartum depression. She was crushed by the prognosis and by his treatment of her. Dr. Malone never called to tell her what the results of her blood test were, so I can only assume he didn't bother looking at them. Two days later she had an appointment with her OBGYN and explained what had happened. Her OBGYN took a look at the blood test and immediately recognized that her levels were extremely low and said "thank goodness you got that blood test". She is now in the process of getting her dosage adjusted so that she can stop suffering. I could not believe how unkind, and frankly negligent, Dr. Malone's actions were. If she had just "toughed it out" she would still be suffering for who knows how long and spiraling further into depression. If Dr. Malone had done the bare minimum, and had the decency to at least LOOK at the blood work, or maybe had just treated my sister-in-law with some amount of empathy, I would not be writing this. It was negligence.

Dr. Malone has a very calming effect, explains things in a way that is easy to understand, makes eye contact and smiles, and makes sure all your questions are answered. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Malone is a courteous gentleman who answers any questions you may have & discusses the best options for your individual body.

Dr. Malone was very warm and positive after the first few minutes of the visit I felt right at ease and in my mind after I was wondering why I was so worried he's really a nice fellow along with he takes the time to explain things so you understand and he listens to you.A++++
