Dr. William Joseph Mann JR.

He did my surgery in 1993. I was 17. I had a baby in 1991 but my son died at 21 days old. He was born completely healthy but got staph in the hospital & RSV. Anyhow I was married & pregnant with twins. One etopic & one normal. I had complications & it was discovered I had ovarian cysts by Dr. Stiff. He sent me to Dr. Mann. Saline was injected into the etopic fetus & I had to carry a few months so the baby in my uterus didn't die. I had my surgery & he told me a cyst ruptured & I may not have anymore children. I woke up cut from one end to the other & no longer pregnant at all! I was told I flatlined in recovery & as a result the other baby died as well. I'm 40 now & I have no children. Before surgery I had 2 pregnancies & none after.

He treats his students like servants and is an jerk to them as well. Egomaniac is the best description.

Does not have a great bed side manner after he operates on you. He didn't even know my name and I was his patient so he could teach students. Well if he is teaching his students his mannerism, then I feel sorry for future patients.He needs to do the surgery, but have the follow up care given to another doctor

I was sent to him from Fox Chase Cancer Center to collaborate with the Dr. This obviously bruised his ego, he proceeded to repeat, in the office, all the biopsies I had just had done 1 month prior. In addition, I had to ask him what he was doing while I was on the table, when he told me he was doing another endometrial biopsy, I began to cry and asked him to give me a minute because I do not tollerate that procedure well. He said "YOU GOT YOUR MINUTE" and proceeded to insert the curette and rip at my endometrial lining. I felt as though I had been horribly violated and sat in the parking lot of his office crying for 10 minutes before I felt I could drive. His nurse who was present for the procedure told me that he thinks he will find the answers that noone else could...he didn't, as a matter of fact the results were worse then the tests from the month before, he told me they were better, and he told me to just come back in a year to see where everything ends up. I can only suppose he… wanted to wait until I had a stage of cancer that was worth him writing a paper for instead of treating my measly CIS stage 2-3. I was told last week when I went to pick up my records that he is leaving practice and going to teach. I am glad he will not be treating anymore patients and subjecting them to his rabid pit bull like bedside manner, but I hope his students have the sense to understand the balance of knowledge and compassion and its necessity in healtcare at any level.
