Dr. William Joseph Markowski, MD

I got in at my appointment time with minimal wait. Dr Markowski spoke with me about my options explained to me what was going on in layman’s terms about anyone could understand. Very professional and respectful. I had two injections and will be having a knee replacement later this year by him. I trust his judgment and his abilities.Entire off ice professional and courteous.

Dr. Murkowski has been my Orthopedic MD for approximately 15 years. He has always been kind and understanding of my various issues (knees, shoulder, neck pains) offering easy to understand explanations of what is going on and the proper treatment He takes the time to listen and I never feel rushed. His nurse Jocie is an asset to the practice - friendly and professional. I would refer everyone y to Dr Markowski.

Appointment schedule had little wait for. Was not happy i did not have doctor listen to what I was sharing. Communication is number one thing I look for in a doctor as well as someone that will listen, I did not feel like that happened. I felt he was just going through the motion, trying to get to the next in line.

I shattered my ankle severely in 2005 and Dr. Markowski put it back together perfectly. I have no pain and went right back to playing tennis, softball and running. Had a check up after 10 years just to check on the condition and I thankfully have no signs of scar tissue or arthritis that is commonly associated with a severe break.

He REFUSED to see a VETERAN with a knee injury WITH INSURANCE coverage!!! What kind of Dr does that??? Why does anyone go here????? Horrible attitudes from staff!! They need to get out of Niceville...not fitting!

I saw Doctor Markowski in the Destin Office. I am very pleased with the Doctor and surgery but very displeased with the support staff. Customer care and treatment was horrid after they had there full payment up front and the surgery was complete. They put more emphasis on scheduling new surgeries and clients rather than taking care of the ones they already have. I felt like I was just pushed through a surgery mill and was shown no priority after the Surgery. I even had to schedule a follow up early because of the pain I was in. Again, pleased with the doctor but it took the support staff over 5 hours to call in a prescription for pain meds that were badly needed. I was told by the support staff they did not have time to call it in because they were seeing patients. So basically I was left to feel that once I was seen and money taken I was of no importance to them while I in the mean time was suffering. Very Disappointed. I will never use Blue Water Orthopedics ever again.

Dr. Markowski is an overall amiable person. When I first met him, he had one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across a few times in life. When he speaks to you, he does not speak to you in a condescending way. Another thing I would like to point out is how candid he is. For example, he will tell you the type of surgery that he will perform, what negative consequences may happen, and your overall general outcome after the surgery. If you have a follow-up appointment with him, and you can not think of any questions to ask; he will think of them for you.
