My father was treated by him and first he told my father he need kidney dialysis and if he didn’t take it then he would just go to sleep and not wake up. The he told him that dialysis was expensive and that it would leave a large bill for my mother after he passed because with it he may get 1-2 years of life. Now my father is afraid to go to sleep because he’s afraid he won’t wake up. I told the dr that my father was a worrier. Everything I tried to tell him about my father he would repeat to my father. My father hasn’t slept but about 10 hours in 6 days. Ever since dr mazzella told him that. The next day my father’s nephrologist came in and didn’t know what we were talking about. My dad didn’t need dialysis. Now the damage to his mental comfort is done and dad can’t get past this. I you don’t want you family member to give up on life don’t go to this doctor. He will take every ounce of Hope from ther. He says d he believed in being brutally honest with his patients. Some patients… can’t take that.
