Dr. Mac is great. Thorough, caring, funny. Like an old country doctor.

Dr.Mac is by far my favorite doctor he knows what he is talking aboutand only cares about you the patient not money not himself, he is awesome!!

I researched This doctor and chose him based on high reviews. Every time I visit the doc, however, I'm dumbfounded as to how he could have such great reviews. Especially when it comes to his office and staff. I will say Dr. McKenzie is a great doc. Very courteus and knowledgable. He takes his time answering all your questions. He can be long-winded and incredibly inappropriate, however. It's hard to tell sometimes if he's just joking to put you at ease. He does genuinely care and know his stuff. After chatting with him for a bit and getting to know him, I feel he truly cares and is committed to assisting families with fertility issues. The office, however, is another story! this place is in an unfortunate state of hygene and in desperate need of better management. It smells like food all the time and does not appear to have been cleaned in a long time. The 80s style wallpaper is falling apart, the informational materials on the walls are decades old and the trash receptacles… in the examination room always full of bio materials. I just cannot understand how the doc with his credentials can allow for such horrid conditions. It seems like a joke sometimes. Dr. McK is excellent but I just cannot recommend him based on his staff and office conditions. I really do hope more patients speak up and demand better management.

On the island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii there is a very special doctor specializing in obstetrics and women's health. He is a gynecologist that has had a profound impact on my life. I was referred to him when I found out I was pregnant and searching for a resonable doctor to care for me and my unborn baby. I remember being so scared when I called his office. The friendly staff made my first appointmentand feeling almost swadled. When I first met the doctor I knew I had been BLESSED. I knew I had found someone really amazing. He has delivered somewhere around 9,000 babies. Almost every other person I've talked to has had children delivered by him. The reaction is always the same, relief, and comments and stories about being carried through life in the arms of an Angel. He should be admitted into the hall of fame for the impact he has had and continues to make in the lives of so many women and families in Hawaii. There are even babies named after him! If you, or a woman… you care about are like me, wrestling to find a good, regular, private ob/gyn, then you should call Dr. McKenzie today and establish your medical history with him. He will take care of you and he will never forget, abandon, or let you get hurt. My son and I will never forget Dr. William McKenzie...

The staff is beyond unprofessional, and extremely rude, the DR will tell you very inappropriate jokes and talk about other patients in very descriptive ways, which means he will probably talk about you to other patients. He rarely even makes eye contact, he was over an hour late for my appointment and even if hes on time....expect to wait at least an hour or more! My 1st appt. I waited almost 3 hours before being seen!! WORST DR and staff I've ever encountered!! The office is gross and appears it has not been redecorated/updated since 1971. I recommend you DO NOT GO TO THIS DR!!!! Who ever reads this I wish you luck!!

I started to see Dr McKenzie 2 years ago when I needed a 2nd opinion. He has the best bedside manner of any physician I've known. He really takes the time to explain things to you, listen to your concerns, and answer questions. You just know that he really cares. I think it's because he spends so much time with his patients that the wait to see him can be quite long. I've waited almost 2 hours to see him before, it can be annoying but if you come prepared it's not too bad. He is well worth the wait. There are a few girls in the office who are nice and courteous but there are also a few who don't seem to care about your privacy. Overall, Dr. McKenzie is the best gyno in Hawaii and comes well recommended from other medical professionals.

There are many reasons that Dr. McKenzie is consistently rated as one of the top OB/GYNs in the state. He really knows his stuff, and he is great at explaining. He is caring and listens and does not balk at however many questions or concerns you have (and a first-time expectant mother can have a LOT!). This is why he has been trying to retire for years, but his patients like him too much to let him go. His office staff, however, has been unprofessional for practically the entire 12+ years that I've been going to this office. His recent MAs have been better, but many are very apathetic and talk about inappropriate things out in the open where anyone waiting can hear. My husband was waiting for me once, and practically heard everything about my medical history because they also mentioned my name! The wait is always very long, but if you just expect it to be long, it's not as bad; just leave a large hole in your day for this appointment. I continue going back to this office only… for the doctor; I really wish he'd turnover his entire office staff.
