William G. Mitchell, MD

Dr. William Mitchell is a gastroenterologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions of the digestive system. He completed his medical education at Albert Einstein College of Medicine before pursuing advanced training with a residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Mitchell further refined his expertise through a fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, gaining specialized experience in complex gastrointestinal care. He provides care in English to patients throughout the Bronx area.

Dr. Mitchell practices at Montefiore Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Group-Family Care Center in Bronx, New York. His clinical expertise includes treating gastrointestinal bleeding and rectal bleeding conditions. He performs essential diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy to examine the digestive tract, as well as minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery when needed.
