Dr. William James Moran, MD

Dr Moran has been a great doctor for me for over many years. Never had a problem getting in to see him. His staff has had some ups and downs only due to change over, from what I have seen. Currently a good group.

This is by far the worst customer service I have every received from a medical facility!!!! I would NOT recommend this office to anyone. The system used to order medication was down at the time of my visit. The nurse told me to expect a call from her as to the status and if the problem persisted she would send my prescription to another office. I never received a call back. I called back to find out the status of my pain medication only to get the response "I'm the only nurse here and I'm busy" and attitude to follow. I should have received a follow up call after my records was ordered from the emergency room I visited days before. One week passed and I finally decide to call back. The receptionist (front office) answered and attempted to transfer me to the nurses office just to be hanged up on. I called back and was finally transferred to the nurses phone only to receive the voice mail machine. I left a voice mail explaining my situation and asking for a call back. I finally got a… call back, after hours, while having dinner with my family. The nurse was very defensive, abrasive and gave me attitude. Stating that they was not able to order my records and confused about the hospital information I provided. I explained to her that had I received a call from the office explaining the issue I would have provided more information. I went on to explain my treatment and the series of events leading up to this conversation. She told me that "she cannot vouch for anyone in her office". Totally un-called for. Dr. Moran appears to be a easy going compassionate doctor but his staff needs to be replaced. No one should be treated this way! I'm never going back to this place and will ensure that everyone I know is aware of my interaction with this office!!! That nurse needs to be fired and replaced!!

Most comfortable checkup I have ever had.

Failed to notify patients when he relocated office, even when I made an appointment, the staff failed to make sure I knew about new address. Went to his old office and found a sign on the door that he had moved. Not on Marathon anymore - moved to the Jefferson Building where parking is terrible. His waiting room is one-fourth the size and filled with beauty products and literature - he runs a spa with his new wife.

While, Dr. Moran is wonderful, non-judgmental, helpful and courteous...His staff are seriously lacking when it comes to intelligence of simple insurance questions and customer service. Unfortunately, I will not go back to see him just because of my experiences with his staff. When I'm sick or need to see the Dr, the last thing I want to deal with is lazy, unknowledgeable, unhelpful and often rude office staff. I'm not sure how many times I heard the words "I don't know" from his staff. I read all his google reviews before going to see him, and wish I would've listened a bit more... My mistake, but it won't happen again.

I've been seeing Dr. Moran for years and years. Even though he is in a solo practice, I never have to wait for an appointment - usually get in to see him the same day - nor do I have to sit in the waiting room more than a few minutes before seeing him. He's a no-nonsense physician, but is also personable and willing to answer my questions.

I've been going to Dr. Moran since I moved to Austin in 1984. When I got married in 2000, my husband also started going to Dr. Moran. I totally trust him with my health care. He has great bedside manner, and is always willing to stick around and answer any questions I might have. I just hope he never retires!!

I love Dr. Moran and his staff. They are friendly, caring, compassionate, and professional! He's been my doctor since we both had dark hair (and more of it)! :)
