Dr. William Rory Murphy, MD

Stay away!! He saw my husband for a while. We Never missed an appointment. He was ok for a while on meds and didn't need to come in. After several months he needed to go back. He called to make appointment. They made the appointment for 5 weeks later. The day of the appointment they called to tell us the doctor can no longer see him because he had not been in a while. We waited all that time for the appointment for no reason. They waited until the day of, then we're rude and did not apologize.

I believe listens well. Just doesn't hand out scripts.

I am impressed with the amount of time and thoroughness Dr. Murphy gives to explaining mental health conditions, how medications work in the body, and current research in the field (as relates to the patient.) He has a calming non-anxious presence, listens well, and relates easily to adolescents as well as adults. His receptionist is delightful and very efficient. While appointments generally need to be scheduled a month or more in advance, if there is a sense of urgency they will re-schedule a patient as cancelled appointment times become available. We have never had to wait more than 5 minutes past our scheduled appointment before seeing the doctor and the waiting room, while small, is more like a living room and very tranquil. One wishes there were time to linger. This review is written on the basis of approximately 15 appointments over a 3 year period.

It's very difficult to get an appointment quickly and as needed. You can wait two weeks or more for a cancellation, which is not particularly helpful when dealing with a crisis situation. Also, getting FMLA paperwork filled out is like pulling teeth.

He may have gone to school, meeting the requirements for a 'dr.' title, but it's only a title in my opinion
