Dr. W. Hugh Nesbit, MD

I have been under Dr. Nesbit's care for 9 years. In that time, I have had spinal and hip surgeries and had been on opiate pain medication for 7 years. Dr. Nesbit helped me with alternatives and today I am 3 years off of them. He is thorough, scientific and caring. His medical staff are top-notch and treat me very very well.

After yet another appointment where Dr. Nesbit was on his phone texting the majority of the time, I decided I'm going to find another pcp. This time when I got into the exam room & he hadn't said a thing to me yet because he was too busy on his phone, I pulled out my own phone and started paying bills online. I've also had to point out to him that he had the wrong patient chart up on the computer screen during my appointment! He's not personable. Never asks how I'm doing, if there's anything I'm concerned about. I also don't like how he just adds more and more medication at every visit without even telling me what they're for. I just looked at my patient chart online and saw that he added something else wrong with me that I haven't even been tested for, nor did he mention it to me during my appointment! And if correct, it is something that needs to be addressed. I also noticed in my visit notes where it asks about my physical appearance, he put "overweight." What?!? I'm about 25 lbs… overweight and have recently lost 30 lbs, but he didn't mention or counsel me about losing weight. He just put that I looked "overweight". Nice.

Maybe not the most personable doctor but the most intelligent & thorough I've ever used & I have a very deep medical history. At times he appears to not be listening but he has the ability to multi-task. He does thorough medical background searches on his patients to look for trends & needs. He also knows how to how to manipulate insurance companies to fit your needs.

I don't even really know where to begin. My 1st visit, He was on a cell phone scrolling through it And also on this laptop . I finally asked what it was about because I was being ignored and I was told he was having billing issues. I was mentioned on several visits very specific problems I was having and he completely ignored what I said on several occasions. I could really go on and on here but what's the point. I found a new family doctor. He is the worst physician I have ever seen he overlooks a lot of things as well . He is also rude.

I would not trust this Dr. I’m shocked he’s still practicing. Overlooks basic medical conditions to the detriment of patients. He’s known to chart on other patients while seeing a different patient. For your healths sake, find another provider. In my opinion, any positive reviews are fraudulent, probably written by office staff.

Needs to be more compassionate towards his patients

Such an amazing Dr

I drove an hour in dangerous..icy weather to get there 20 minutes early, as they require. I then waited for over 1 and a half hours, with no ideas given as to when he could break loose and see me. It was very disrespectful of my time and safety, as the ice continued to fall and the warnings continued to go out. So, for my safety and that of my wife, who had waited patiently with me, I left. Patients are actually people, and our time is just as worthy as our Doctors, not to mention the fact that we pay...I do not owe any doctor a dime as far as I know. Poor and frustrating situation. So we crept home in the terrible weather, with no resolution to my medical issues, which continue unabated.

At first, I thought he might be a bit abrupt. He is all business. As I continued to speak with him, I was very impressed with his knowledge and particularly with the manner in which he addressed a problem. I happened to mention that I had fallen and hurt my left wrist two weeks prior. He said he wanted to x-ray it. Lo and behold, it was fractured! He immediately texted Dr. Chalkis, an impressive Hand Physician at Hillcrest and I was quickly sent to his office, and was seen there immediately. Dr. Nesbitt is my new Primary Care Physician.
