Dr. William Armistead Price, MD

I came to Dr. Price wanting help working through some social anxiety I was having while studying at Duke. I was finding it difficult to raise my hand and speak up in class and wanted to figure out some strategies to overcome this fear. Dr. Price asked me something along the lines of “if you could have anything to help overcome this, what would it be?” — to which I responded “more time in the day” (to prepare questions for class). In response to this, he prescribed me adderall. I was shocked but knew that it would “give me more time in a day” so took it, and proceeded to use it for the next 3 years. That stuff is addictive!!!! And I didn’t need it *whatsoever*. It took me many years to wean myself off this prescription drug. I look back and wonder why Dr. Price would so easily prescribe that, when it’s far from what I was seeking. I wish that doctors would present other alternatives and strategies before jumping to prescribe a controlled substance.

I've been seeing Dr Price for roughly 4 years, 6 times a year. He is an excellent Dr who cares more for his patients than he does his profit. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about him
