Dr. Rawlings has practiced in the Solana Beach/Encinitas communities since 1982. He is a Texas native who attended college at Southwestern University. He received his dental training from Baylor College of Dentistry, receiving his D.D.S. degree in 1974 and completing his pediatric dentistry specialty in 1976. Dr. Rawlings served three years in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1979 practicing as a pediatric dentist while stationed in West Germany. He is one of a very small number of dentists in the U. S. board certified in both orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Dr. Rawlings is a staff member at Children's Hospital in San Diego and also teaches in the pediatric residency program. In his spare time he is a trustee of Quail Botanical Gardens and enjoys restoring and driving classic automobiles.
