Dr. William Michael Ricci, MD

This is not a patient-centered doctor. There is one assistant working for him who usurps the practice and this doctor is unaware, indifferent or too disinterested to take notice, much more take train the assistant to limit his involvement to that which is appropriate. The assistant fancies himself one and the same as this doctor. It is a delusion. The doctor is not providing the care he markets that he provides. He's completely inaccessible even though the facility provides a portal so a patient can message their doctor. He does not take phone calls either. When telling the assistant the patient has a question for the doctor, it is not passed on. It is a red flag to encounter interference in a doctor patient relationship at every turn. It suits this doctor too well to be relieved of his duties and have his patients spend their time with one under him who is ill-equipped to stand in the doctor's shoes. Doesn't do much for my comfort level. Merely a chat with this assistant that consists… of speculation that proves incorrect due to ignorance when the patient thinks she will be seeing the doctor for the trip made - who is not around - produces a claim of making moderate level decision making, later to have to be redressed as nothing remotely resembling decision making takes place. There is no legitimate reason the assistant attempts to keep doctor and patient separate. When the assistant intercepts a writing concerning the patient's care, he does not place it in the patient's medical record as required and stonewalls when the patient requests a copy. The assistant causes the patient to have to jump through hoops to make an appointment. I felt like a mere punctuation mark in my appointment as I was not comfortable telling the assistant it’s time to go. The nurse came in and did what she had to and knew to leave. The doctor's failure of oversight is too much work to deal with and I decided the effort is not justified. I reached the conclusion a few days before my 2nd and last appointment to select another provider. I then experienced what an appointment with a diligent and dedicated doctor for a fracture consists of. Dr. Ricci never apologized for his assistant's interference and frustrations, various actions and inactions. No patient needs the frustration of purpose. Take your time finding the right doctor and do not place any arbitrary limit on the number you need to see. Availability is important. This practice is off in too many ways. This doctor demonstrates indifference to the patient and indifference the patient receiving no treatment. He makes no connection with the patient. No one needs that.

If you can wear armor during your office visits and stick with him, your persistence may be richly rewarded by his surgical skill. He was recommended to me by another ortho surgeon who said the repair of my knee, badly mangled in an accident, was beyond his abilities. This was after another surgeon had made a failed attempt at its repair. Now, some months after surgery by Dr. Ricci, I am able to walk without pain, discomfort, stiffness or limp. My 'bad' knee moves as smoothly and freely as my 'good' one. It doesn't get any better than that.

He is one of the if not best Orthopedic doctors in the country, read his awards, seminars, practices him and his team has done! I had my right leg pretty much ripped off from the waist line and he saved my leg and my pelvis crushed due to being hit and run over by a 1-ton duelly truck on the hwy and I'm now 2 yrs later walking again! I even had a case of foot drop BAD and he put ex-fixes on and brought them back up so I could be weight bearing on them! Him and his entire staff have treated my family and I like we were family, I did NOT have insurance either at them times and he treated us no different! To me the staff are angels who are giving me my life back! I highly recommend them to anyone!

I have never felt so unwelcomed and uncomfortable in my entire like. I have seen many doctors in my life but William Ricci is by far the rudest doctor I have ever been to. I will never step foot in that man's office again. Horrible character.
