Dr. William F Rylander, MD

My sister went into see the nurse practitioner at this practice about a problem that is getting progressively worse. First, the nurse practitioner suggested that having hemoglobin levels at 10 (and dropping) after two iron transfusions just might be my sister's "new norm". Second, the nurse practitioner was asked to talk to the doctor about a surgical procedure that might solve my sister's blood loss problem, but when my sister called a week later, it was clear that the nurse practitioner had forgotten to speak to the doctor. My sister is still waiting to hear from the doctor and will have further delays waiting for the procedure to clear the insurance company. I'm writing this review hoping that somebody who works in the office - the nurse, the actual doctor, will see it and take care of my sister's health needs. You may think my sister is dispensable or that her health needs are too complicated. If either is true, please send her to someone who will pay attention and get her… the treatment she needs, and please do it fast. She is very precious to many people.

Dr. Ryelander was very professional and answered all my question regarding the need for a colonoscopy, the procedure and the results. His bedside manner was professional and to the point, dispelling old-wives tales causing my medical condition. Overall the interaction from the office visit to the procedure and follow-up review have been very good and as expected. Even had to pay for office visit up front - happily - don't know too many doctors offices where this is not the case these days. His practice is a busy one, so there were probably 4-5 people in the waiting room, but I was seen within 10-15 minutes of arriving for a scheduled appointment. On a recent return visit his PA handled my visit and exam; she was one of the best PA's I have interacted with, knowledgeable, professional and explained my diagnosis and made appropriate recommendations and thoughtfully answered all my questions.

They ask you for money upfront I get general medical care for free through my husband‘s work and I just had to pay $40 to see a nurse I never even was seen by Dr. Rylander if I want a nurse to tell me what’s wrong with me I will go to my general doctor I went to see a specialist but instead was seen by a nurse

You will wait for ever

In my initial appointment I met with the PA. She explained the procedure to me, as well as the pros and cons of different tests. I did not meet with Dr. Rylander until right before the colonoscopy. He was pleasant, professional, and he, too, explained the procedure and his opinions about the different tests. To some people, being curt is being unprofessional. I like to get right down to the nuts and bolts of what is being recommended, without any fluff or window dressing. Both the PA and Dr. Rylander got right tot he point, and neither minced any words. I had no problems with the PA or with Dr. Rylander. The staff, in his office and where the procedure was done, were all professional, and they made the experience a bit more tolerable. You won't get Marcus Welby; but, you'll get efficiency -- I like that.

Charges you for services not rendered. Doesn't return phone calls in a timely manner.

Unfortunately we didn't receive the same care a lot of u have received. I have a young daughter who did not receive the dignity or care. dr Rylander walked out of hospital room while we were still asking questions. He was truly awful. My daughter was very hurt and distraught by his behavior. Everyone deserves dignity and respect. Regardless of age, gender or race.

Seems to work very well with older patients, taking time to make sure they understand information and treatment.

You will never find a better doctor in his field!!! You can not go wrong with Doc. Ive used him for almost 15 yrs
