Dr. Schwartz
Dr. Schwartz was born the son of a dentist, Dick, and a dental hygienist, Ellen, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. In addition to his parents, he has many other familial influences who peaked his interest in dentistry. His uncles Karl (before his passing), Steve and Tony are all dentists and Aunt Mary is a dental hygienist. His Brother Karl is also a dental laboratory technician. He always felt like a career in dentistry was in his future.
Dr. Schwartz grew up loving all sports and participating in most. In high school he competed in football, hockey and golf. He learned to downhill ski at the age of 4 on the slopes of northern Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. However, he was unable to pursue his love for skiing to the extent he does now due to his love for competitive ice hockey.
Dr.Schwartz attended the University of Minnesota Twin Cities College of Liberal Arts. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and participated in many intramural sports during that time …including hockey. He was accepted for early admission to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and graduated with distinction in 1998.
Dr. Schwartz practiced dentistry in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area until June of 2000 at which point he decided to pursue his dream of living in Colorado. Before moving to Colorado, he went on a three-and-a-half month backpacking trip through Southeast Asia where he visited Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. In October of 2000 he moved to Denver where he worked until June 2002 when he moved to Steamboat Springs to become a part of Pine Grove Dental.
Dr. Bill ,as he is now known, loves living in Steamboat where he continues to be active in dentistry and sports. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and prides himself in being current with his education and providing the best care possible for his patients.
He is still very involved in hockey, both coaching youth hockey and playing. This past year the team he helped coach went on to win the Colorado State Hockey Championship for their age division. His other interests include golf, mountain biking, hiking, dirt biking, fly fishing, water skiing, softball, tennis, yoga, the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey, telemark skiing, back country skiing, snowmobiling and spending time with his Labrador, Gili.
Dr. Schwartz is proud of the merger between Pine Grove Dental Associates and Steamboat Dental Group and says, "I am excited for the future of Pine Grove Dental Arts and the opportunity to bring a first rate facility to my patients along with the same, consistent, top quality dental care."
