In 1987, at the age of 16, I was involved in a car accident that nearly stole my life. I sustained a TBI and was in a coma for 14 days. Dr. Shapiro was my physician. I recall little about my hospital stay, but my final day remains clear. For weeks I had been begging Dr. Shapiro to let me go home, and on that last day he came into my room and sat down. We talked and he nonchalantly asked what I would choose if I had just one wish. I told him I wanted to go home, to which he replied, "OK, you can do that." It was one of the happiest moments of my life. I truly can't say thank you enough for the level of care I received!!!

Dr. Shapiro saved me after a traumatic brain injury in Wichita, KS, in 1988. I'm still going strong. He's the best!

dr shapiro was the dr for my son who at age 4 had a brain tumor, he was awesome!!!!!
