Dr. William Hoyt Smith, MD

Dr. Smith has been my PCP for 15 years now and I think he’s great. He does seem to go through the appointment fast, but he addresses the issues you go to him for. I have found if I need more of his time, all I have to do is ask and he will come back and talk until I am satisfied. Sometimes people only assume that doctors can read their minds on what they want. I would recommend Dr. Smith to anyone.

Treated my husband while standing next to the door. Didn’t touch him one time. Acts very uninterested in your concerns.

I have been seeing Dr.Smith for a while now and he is a very good Dr.If he isn't sure what is wrong with you he makes sure you go to someone who can.

THE WORST Dr appointment that I have ever had!!!!! From the rude receptionist to the Dr who apparently didn't even cared enough to take a look at my lab results that I got back after one week of delay!

He is the poorest excuse for a Dr. I have ever seen. I took my 85 year old mother to see him do to her having a multiple of problems, one being breathing.. She had been going to see this so called Dr. for a while. I explained every issue she was having. He never got off his little stool to even put on hand on her, Never checked her heart or any other part of her body. He left the room within a few minutes and to my surprise never returned. He ordered a chest X-ray and then mis-diagnosed her with pneumonia. A few days later she was taken to the ER with a heart rate of 30. Of course he never checked her heart so how would he know. We lost our MOM. Thank you DR. Smith for your not so excellent care. I hope your mother has a Dr. as caring as you..

Nice guy. Very impersonal, stood up the entire time during the appointment. Not relatable or easy to talk to.

Went in for a visit for heel pain. I told him my symptoms and he said I have an Achilles' tendon. All he did was squeeze my calf muscle and told me to go to physical therapy ! No X rays , MRI or nothing to look inside my leg . He said I didn't need one . I could have torn tendons or a fracture. I just wasn't satisfied with that diagnosis ! ??

Doctor Smith has been my primary doctor a few years now, has given me referrals to specialist and overall has been great! Usually on time, very professional doctor and staff. I really like the Doctors of Galen Medical Group.

Dr. Smith has been my doctor for 7 or 8 years; Dr. Smith is very personable and upbeat and easy to talk to, very energetic. In my opinion, he would work better with younger patients. I am in my 80's. I feel he rushes through exams, makes fast assessments, records his impression and is quickly on his way. I have not found a cooperative response to patient needs and little individualized focus. Staff assistance is minimal and hurried as well. My main dissatisfaction relates to a sense of physician discomfort in caring for an older patient. This is a subjective assessment and an impression. I plan to make a change soon. I believe he may be excellent with children and younger patients. This relates to my overall experience over the years and a long-term forebearance in hope of change. I would recommend Dr. Smith to a younger demographic.
