Excellent Assistance from Dr. Bourgeois!!!!

Dr. Tisdall and PA Blount have been sincere and compassionate when I've gone to my appointments with them, however, after checking in for my appointments and when waiting to be seen in the exam room, the MAs gossip about the patients in front of other patients. Can we say HIPAA??Most recent appointment that was with a different provider,(Dr. BOURGEOIS whom I've never seen before), for injections that I have been getting for months, my husband and I were treated like garbage and they turned me away!! Originally my appointment was at 1530 and was changed to 1700 (when they close). I called 30 mins prior to my appointment informing them I would be about 10 mins. late (not knowing how horrible traffic was on the side of town as I never go on that side)and instead of informing the Dr. I may be late, the MA said she would let them know. Upon arrival, this MA told the front desk staff that "I was going to arrive IN 5 MINUTES" (not what I said at all). And even though my appointment was at… 1700 (when they close), I was turned away and was told that the Dr. was in another appointment for injections. WHAT PRACTICE SCHEDULES APPOINTMENTS FOR AFTER CLOSING TIME? it seemed so suspicious to me as I have never heard of any practice scheduling appointments for after closing time. Sounds like that 1730 appointment was for personal reasons and/or a favor for someone. And because I was treated so unfairly, I will not be coming back to be treated as such and will be searching for another provider that has competent, compassionate staff that doesn't violate HIPAA and doesn't turn their patients away.

Bad experience, was was told certain amount was going to be a full payment, due that deductible was not meet the year, now I`m getting statement with a different unpaid amount.

New insurance kicks in, and now I need prior authorization. Instead of sending information to my insurance, the doctors office sends information to pharmacy. The pharmacy does not have the authority to do anything except tell me to call my doctor. Every time I call the person who needs to help me , I am told they are out to lunch." I am put on hold constantly so that my phone just cycles and I get someone asking "Hello, how can I help you.... sure just one moment" and Im on hold again!!!!!

I had an appointment on 3 Oct 18 at 2:50 pm for a procedure. I fasted 8 hours and arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time as requested. By 3:15 I was still sitting in the waiting room and when I went to ask what the hold up was, I was told Dr Tisdall was in with another patient. They have a post at the front desk that if you are late 15 minutes for your appointment they reserve the right to reschedule you. I hold the doctors to the same standard! If I am expected to be on time I expect to be seen on time. It is very unprofessional and disrespectful to keep your patients waiting especially when they spend thousands of dollars on health insurance. They need to work on their time management and not overbook patients. Fortunately, I am retired military and can go back to BAMC where they have much better health care. I called this morning at 9:00 am and I have an appointment at 11:00 am today with their back surgeon. The only reason I went to the civilian sector is because the surgeon… at BAMC had just deployed overseas (that was six months ago but he's back now. That's how long it took to get to my procedure with this doctor.. just sad). My recommendation is that you hold the doctors to the same standard they give you, the patient. If you are not seen within 15 minutes of your appointment time, go see another doctor because they are a dime a dozen and without patients they don't get paid.

I have been here twice. Both times they have refused to help me in any way. First they said since I was on meds from old doctors they wouldn't help me. After 6 months of not talking meds and trying to make it I went back. Then they tell me they cant help cause I was given meds to get off the pain meds. Hey have cost me 2 days of work and look me in the eye and with a damm smile said we still cant help you. But if you come back in a month we can see them if we can help. They said all this with a smile. As I'm in pain, cant hold my daughter, cant work a full day, they sit there and make jokes. I cant go to another doctor or I'm doctor shopping. They have proven that help is only for the rich and their favorite people. Working class people are just seen as 2nd class. I want my old life back. I want to hold my daughter, I want to work. But i have to wait for doctors to be in the mood to help, which from what I've seen i won't get not matter how hard i try. Thanks doc for twice not helping… and blowing me off. Really show who your willing to help

If your looking for a pain doctor that cares about his patients?? Well let me tell you Dr. Tisdall and Dr. Jensen are the BEST doctors in San Antonio. I had to be admitted to the hospital for my sickle cell and chronic conditions .Dr. Jensen went the extra mile to check up on me. He called my admitting doctor daily. Even after I was discharged they made sure to follow up with me to check on how I was doing. I worked in military and civilian hospitals and I had NEVER seen this kind of service. I just want to thank Dr. Jensen & Dr. Tisdall and his staff for caring about patients! This says a lot about your practice. I have and will recommend ALL my military and civilian friends to only the best!

Where else can you go to a Doctors office have people greet you with compassion and care about you. Not too many. I could not imagine having a job where every patient is edgy and in horrible pain during my work day. When you are waiting in pain twenty minutes or so it is multiplied by seven. I sometimes I wish I could see Dr. Tisdale more often too but rest assured I know if I need to see him, he will find time. I get first rate treatment from my PA. I want to thank my "Doc" Reed for taking care of me even when I'm whiney and having a bad day.

Dr Tisdall and his staff are the best in San Antonio. Dr Tisdall is very personable and listens. He spent time explaining options and expected outcomes of each option. If you need a pain doctor go see Dr Tisdall and husband staff you won't be disappointed.
