Dr. William J Tremaine III, MD

Dr. Tremaine was very friendly and professional. He took the time to listen to my problems and did the necessary tests to determine what to do next. He lined me up with a terrific surgeon who took care of my problem. When I had any questions he would always get back to me promptly. I was very fortunate to have such a great doctor and would not hesitate to highly recommend him to anyone who has a GI problem. Thank you Dr. Tremaine!

I met Dr. Tremaine at a CCFA meeting 20 years ago. So impressed I made an appointment to travel to MN and he remains my doctor today. I have tried to find good GIs in other states but none are half as great as Dr. Tremaine. I fly back to Rochester once a year for annual check up and peace of mind. No one does it better than Dr. Tremaine and Mayo Clinic. I am so grateful he is my doctor.

Dr. Tremaine is an extremely good doctor, who truly seems to care about his patients and their well-being. He provides excellent information and illustrations about what is going on and what his plans are to help you achieve remission. I traveled a long way to see him on 2 separate occasions and he always makes time for you. He is very prompt and courteous while remaining professional. Even after leaving the Mayo Clinic, I was able to contact him through the patient portal and he always got back to me in a timely manner (even when he was out of state at a conference). He also personally called me back with test results and even helped me find a new GI in my area, who was better suited to treat me than my previous GI. Overall, he's a great doctor and a very nice man.

Dr. Tremaine is an extremely knowledgable doctor in his field (GI) and sub-specialties (Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis). He is very good at explaining complicated medical issues and data in a concise and simple manner. He is also extremely kind and caring and very easy to talk to. Another unique quality that Dr. Tremaine possesses is his flexiblity in terms of any necessary follow-up care. For instance, I came to see him at the Mayo Clinic from out-of-state, so he made himself available to me, as much was possible, via telephone and email contact to my local doctors, as well as to me. Even if you don't live close to Minneapolis, making the trip to the Mayo Clinic, in order to consult with Dr. Tremaine for a GI disorder is worth your time, in my opinion...
