Dr. William B Troutman, MD

Being one of the only local pediatric cardiologist my son was sent to him. Poor bedside manner and when we returned because his treatment wasn't working. He said patient had no problem and was too heavy!! Two weeks later he had to be taken from school via ambulance b/c of SVT's and due to his mistreatment we found a doctor in Ochsner and he had two surgeries to close a hole in his heart!! Don't trust this man!! especially if u are over weight.

Our son has been a patient of Dr. Troutman even bf he was born. Our son was diagnosed in utero At Keesler medical. We were then scheduled to see Dr. Troutman , I believe he was major Troutman at that time. Dr. Troutman was very thorough, doing multiple ultrasounds before our son was born and after as well. We have complete trust in him. Luckily for us when Dr. Troutman got out of the United States Air Force we were able to continue to see him. Our son has been seeing Dr. Troutman for over 17 1/2 years now and we couldn't be any more pleased with the care he has received .

Dr. Troutman was unable to pull up my daughter's echocardiogram on his computer system. Instead of doing another, he sent her old one to a collegue in Jackson and took his word that everything was okay. He then listened to hear heart and told us that she had a very loud heart murmur and he could understand why her doctor was alarmed. He then proceeded to tell us that we didn't even need a follow up. WTH? This is my child's heart. Why would he trust another doctor's opinion without seeing it first hand himself? We have been referred to another doctor's office for a second opinion.

I arrived 15 mins early as requested to fill out paperwork, and by the time I finished filling it out, Dr. Troutman was ready to see me. He was extremely professional, but also very compassionate. He took the time to explain each part of the test to me (fetal echo) and exactly what he was seeing on the monitor. He showed me the screen so that I could also see exactly what he was talking about. He requested follow up care and we scheduled that right away. He even scheduled an appointment around the time I am able to get a baby sitter, even though it was earlier than he likes to accept appointments. Hoping we DON'T have to continue to see him, but if we do, I am glad he is the doctor we see!

Excellent physician. Will tell you the truth even when it is a hard truth to hear. No-nonsense kind of guy, but very compassionate.
