Dr. Whalen specializes in a wide variety of advanced lung diseases ranging from interstitial lung disease (ILD) and pulmonary fibrosis, to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He is involved and participates in numerous clinical trials where he aims to institute the latest state of the art treatments for his patients. Dr. Whalen also works collaboratively the Columbia University lung transplant program to improve access to patients living in midtown Manhattan as well as Brooklyn.

Dr. Whalen is a medical superhero who’s a pro at diagnosing tricky cases of Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). He’s got this amazing way of making patients feel super confident and at ease.

Dr. Whalen is considerate and helpful. He explained my condition in a manner that I could easily understand. He gladly answers my follow up questions and He exhibits genuine concern for my well being. You are easily put at ease by his gentle and personable manner. He is an excellent doctor in all aspects.

Doctor Whalen is the dictionary definition of professional. His demeanor, bed side manor, as well as thoroughness is not common for doctor’s nowadays. I am also weary of trying new doctors and am grateful to have found Doctor Whalen.

Dr, Whalen thoroughly explained all aspects of my condition and how to treat it. I was very impressed at how knowledgeable he is. When I called concerning my health he got right back to me and prescribed medication to help me feel better. I enjoy my visits with him. He is a wonderful doctor!
