Don't take your kid here!!! I could see my kid was uncomfortable and the sounds being made should've been an indicator to Dr. Whitney but he didn't seem to care. It seemed like Dr. Whitney was stressing during the visit because he wasn't being very nice to his helper. My kid left traumatized and our family will not be going there any more

I went to this dentist once. The waiting room was stuffy and claustrophobic. Apparently they ran behind schedule; I had to wait a long time. Every dentist I ever visited before had a separate room to see patients. Not here. While I was waiting in the chair, the doctor was with another patient in the next chair. I could hear every word because the chairs are in one open room. The music was annoying. The doctor mumbled the whole time during the procedure and I couldn't understand what he was saying. I had questions afterwards, but the doctor was already gone and his assistant led me to the front desk to pay the bill. All in all, a very weird experience. I never returned. Also, six months later my filling had to be redone by another dentist.

Dr. Whitney has a serious complaint filed against him with the Maine Dental Board of Practice. Dr. Whitney's dental care is unacceptable as I was told by several specialists that had to correct my problems Dr. Whitney created. He is also an unethical person. I strongly advise people to choose another dentist. Protect your healthy teeth and your insurance money!!!

Saved a couple teeth, pulled a really tough one without it breaking, very patient

There is a lot wrong with this dental office. Two of the people working with Dr. Whitney stated that he was not professional and should leave his personal problems (Going through a divorce.) at home. One of these people left shortly after. One time Dr. Whitney cut my lip with a burr, said "oops" and left the room, I never saw him again. The dental assistent referred me to the local Rite Aid for an antiseptic because she couldn't find anything. I tried to stop the bleeding with my Kleenex tissue and went to Rite Aid. Another time when Dr. Whitney gave me a shot to numb the area to be worked on, I felt the needle go in a lot deeper than usual. All of a sudden I felt a terrible pain on that side of my face shooting up to my eye. (It caused double vision in my eye which lasted for at least 25 minutes.) When I asked Dr. Whitney what happened he looked at me like a deer in headlights. He told me he had never seen this happen in his carreer. I went home and made an appointment with an… optalmologist to make sure there would be no lasting damage. It was very clear to me that Dr. Whitney had no idea what had caused this.These are only a few examples of what happened. Needless to say, I now visit another dentist. What a difference!

No. Just no. I went in as a new patient and listened to the dentist discuss with the patient their treatment and issues out in the waiting room. Then the hygienist almost forgot my lead apron for an X-ray. The contraption would not fit in my mouth well so I had to hold it. Then she didn't get the right image so was going to have to do it again. She left to get the dentist when the second contraption wouldn't fit or position correctly either. I left startling the dentist who was sitting in his office. This place did not inspire confidence in me. I feel fortunate to have left without work done.

My experience with Dr. Whitney could not have been worse. Dr. Whitney does not care about his patients. Most regular dental procedures had to be corrected by another dentist. Other problems occurred as well such as a questionable crown and a bridge that had to be taken out twice which left a virgin tooth damaged beyond repair. I now have to see specialists for expensive dental procedures to correct the damage caused by Dr. Whitney. The outcome is uncertain.
