Dr. Wood did my weight loss surgery 4 months ago! He was patient, kind, and took great care of me! I've lost 70 lbs in 4 months. I highly recommend Dr. Wood and his staff at Alabama Weight Loss Surgery in Birmingham, AL.

Dr. Wood is an awesome doctor. I work in surgery, and we are very particular when it comes to which surgeon to choose for our procedure. A couple months ago, he discovered that I had appendicitis. Dr. Wood walked me through every step of the procedure, what was going to happen, and what I should expect. My surgery went as well as I could’ve asked for, and the recovery was much shorter than expected. I would recommend Dr. Wood for any general surgery, as I have worked with him through many operations, and let him operate on me as well, (and I think that explains itself). When choosing a general surgeon, he’s definately a good one.

He repaired an encapsulated umbilical hernia on my son. He listened to our concerns over pain management and acted appropriately. He's very professional and you can tell that he really cares about his patients, as does his office staff. So impressed with him that my husband is going to see him for hernia repair.

Dr. Wood performed my needed surgery with true professionalism. His staff were helpful, diligent and efficient. I couldn't have received better attention.

Dr Wood seems nice enough bjt it is a momey trap! Know yourimsurance policy! Not only did they over charge my copay, they asked for money up front to secure a procedure. That is unheard of. Then his nurse came back into the exam room asking for twice what would have normally been paid when we checked into the hospital. They wanted money up front to secure a date for an outpatient surgery. When I declined the offer, the price got lower and lower. She reminded me of a car salesman. I will protest my copay and see if I get that back but do not think I will ever see that again. Stay away, very far away.

The worst doctor I have ever known. He is perhaps one of the worst human beings I have ever known.
