Dr. Wilmie Masangcay Hathaway, DO

I went to Urgent Care for HIV post exposure prevention and Dr. Hathaway was the doctor on duty. She prescribed a 7 day treatment of Combivir. I asked if she was sure because I had previously had to take the medication for 28 days a number of years before. She stated that the medication had gotten so advanced that only seven days were needed. I went home and did more research online and could not find anything that confirmed what she said. The next day I contacted my primary practitioner with my concerns. He worked at the same Hospital. He told me that Dr. Hathaway had broken with protocol and that a full regimen of post exposure medication was indeed 28 days. Dr. Hathaway either doesn’t know what she is doing or intentionally endangered my health.
