Dr. Wilson Shuchun Tsai, MD

Actually, NO STARS! He is rude, arrogant and full of himself. Textbook definition of a Narcissist! He refused to inform us of his over all plan. He only wanted to tell us bits and pieces of what to expect because "he didn't want to repeat himself" He puts feeding tubes in without proper authorization from your insurance and then the Nutrition company expects you to pay cash before you leave the hospital for the food and IV Stand. The Company repeatedly said the Feeding tube would not be covered but because I contacted our insurance company we received every cent back because it was a covered procedure. He told my husband that weighs 145 lbs that he wasn't obese but he had a lot of fat. His staff Nichole is also as rude as he is. We found a new Dr. and was very happy with her!

My daughter who is very ill had a procedure scheduled with Dr. Tsai. She had her appointment for 3 weeks and got a call the afternoon before saying that authorization had not gone through and she had 10 minutes to call insurance or appointment was cancelled. I called the surgery scheduler and she stated that she had e-mailed the insurance and was hoping auth would go through in time for surgery. Insurance told my daughter that they would push auth through and it would take 24 hours to process. If the surgery scheduler had done her job, then my daughters procedure would not have been cancelled. Why are they asking ill patients to follow up on insurance afternoon before procedure. When I spoke with surgery scheduler, she was very rude and said it is what it is and your daughters appt. is cancelled. We have already moved things around and filled her spot. Unbelievable and do not care about patients at all. Dr. Tsai seems to be a good physician, too bad staff do not care about patients.

During our first surgical consultation visit, Dr. Tsai was very curt and wouldn't consider any option other than surgery. When I looked at his notes of my visit, he put a male's physical exam into my records even though I didn't have a physical exam and am a woman. When I called him on it, he said he doesn't care about physical exams. I had to bet him to fix my record, which he really didn't understand. When I checked later, he'd removed the wrong physical exam, but still hadn't corrected the rest of my records, saying there was no family, medical or surgical info on file even though I'd given him all those forms when I arrived. He also still referred to me in my record as a male. His lack of attention to detail and not caring about accurate medical records led me to believe he's lazy and doesn't care about details. I definitely don't want him touching my body.

Has been difficult to have an initial visit recommended by oncologist

Very arrogant overbooked and disinterested in your need for understanding and support! Does not make for any confidence in him doing surgery for you! Going to UCSF

After one year of trying to figure out what was wrong with me through various doctors and multiple tests, I was referred to Dr. Tsai. Not only did he pour through all of my previous test results and come up with a proper diagnosis, but he spent a significant amount of time with my husband and I on two separate pre-surgery appointments to explain my condition and what my options were. Because of the time and care that Dr. Tsai took, I went into Surgery for my very large Hiatal Hernia with much confidence and ease. I came through surgery with better than expected results and the aftercare I received on Dr. Tsai's specialized Thoracic "floor" at John Muir Concord was impeccable. His specially trained nurses and Physician's Assistant made my 2 night stay completely bearable because of the amazing care that I was given. Not only do I feel like Dr. Tsai and his team have given me a whole new lease on life, but that I now have an outstanding team of doctors and professionals that I can turn… to at Bass. Thank you Dr. Tsai!

Dr Tsai is very direct and explains his procedures well. His manner encourages confidence and relieves anxiety. He displays professionalism in all his contacts . And of course the results have been wonderful. Thank you so much.

Dr. Tsai is an extremely rude and uncaring physician. His arrogance is stunning and the quality of care is suspect. I would avoid him and seek medical care elsewhere. His staff is extremely rude as well.

I recently lost my brother to esophageal cancer due to unawareness of the outcome from symptoms he was experiencing. I have lived with the same symptoms for years and have learned to live with the symptoms taking pill after pill with no results or hope for change. My symptoms had increased to the point where i was having a difficult time trying to eat abdominal pain, and acid build up so bad that I was unable to sleep laying down. I had seen every Specialist I could get my Primary Physician to send me to and was told the same thing every time, " take one to two pills before meals". I had given up until God pointed me into the path of Dr. Tsai. I have never experienced a Physician that genuinely cares about his patients, adjusts his own schedule for his patients needs ( I live 900 miles away) and takes the time to explain what I was experiencing. He performed lap nissen surgery on me and I now am able to live a normal life. Thank you for your outstanding commitment to patients and… going above and beyond your duty as a Physician!!!
