Dr. Wing Chang, MD

Dr Chang is an excellent no surgery rehabilitative medicine physician. I highly recommend him. He has been taking good care of my back problems for the last 20 odd years. We’ve just reached the limit of what we can do non surgically. Not to worry, though, Dr Changs partner at POC, Dr. Casinelli, is a fantastic back surgeon. I see a visit with him in my future

Great experience as usual

He gave me two injections for my back and I am now 10x worse. I paid an enormous amount of money to now barely be able to walk. When I called to find out next steps, he cancelled my follow up appointment and sent me to someone else.

Efficient office, wonderful front desk staff and personally, I like Dr. Chang. He is friendly, intelligent and has helped my neck issues tremendously. His nurse is very nice. I have a lousy market place health care plan that his practice doesn’t honor, but that’s not his fault. That’s the only drawback.

I am a Surgery Coordinator, I work on a daily basis with doctors and patients. I know how important it is for a doctor to have a strong communication with patients and 1st time patients, good Impressions are a Plus. As a new patient, I am very disappointed. I came in for lower back pain, and he ordered MRI. Saw him to discuss results and he points out my disk is growing out a little curvy in the middle but ignores the problem and doesn't elaborate. He proceeds with telling me since my pain is not in the middle, puts aside the image from MRI; then recommends cortisone injections and Physical Therapy for my pain. I asked him what about my disk? What should I expect from this development? He then snaps at me and begins to insinuate I am not understanding him. He even asked me if he needs to write down his recommendations? He acted like if he was confused with my concerns. I don't feel I should be the one asking him questions regarding my results, I had to literary spelled out from him… information about my "abnormal MRI" this Man, kept drawing on top of his signature over and underlining on the paper 3 times like I bored him; I didn't have a productive conversation with him; he didn't validate my concerns and told me I could leave a normal life with my curve disk? Seriously? Good bedside manner isn’t just a courtesy or looking professional; He was rushing me out and I gave me no other alternatives but PT and hormones. At check out "want to schedule a follow up? " Ahhh "NEVER with him."

Doctor appointment went well. Very professional, friendly, and helpful.

First visit, he barely looked me in the eye, just wrote out meds and appt for MRI. Did not do any basic tests to find out if I had an issue with sciatica, muscular or joints. I assumed he needed to see MRI to engage. Two more visits, he barely shared any information on what could be the issue and I had to ask basic questions that he had no answers for at all. I was dumbfounded and would never recommend him. Even with insurance, his services were extremely expensive and he has maybe spent 10 minutes total in three visits. I have never written a bad review about any physician but I feel people should be warned.

After seeing some of these bad reviews i was extremely alert when visiting dr. Chang first the first time. I observed his body language, bed side manners and analyzed content of all matters discussed. What i experienced was in NO way consistent with these bad reviews. I'll even go a step further and state that i was impressed by him. He was attentful and on point. He even went beyond what was needed and schooled me on the effects of my drug mixtures... Today i went in for my procedure, and my assessment remains the same. He was timely, efficient well-spoken on the process and took his time to explain every step. In summary, to me he is 5 stars. I suspect that the bad reviews are from pill poppers who were vindictive because he didnt go along with giving them the paindrugs THEY wanted.

I have learned not to get hurt work because Dr Chang is the workers comp doctor . When he spent five minutes sent me to physical therapy which only made things worse when I went back to him he finally sent me to an MRI which when he looked at it said that he saw inflammation and arthritis . He said the workers comp insurance in order for an EMG which the insurance said they want him to do . He says he has not received approval for him to do the EMG. In the meantime he shot me with steroids and does not seem concerned about how much pain I am in . I told him I needed a letter to my employer that I can’t work at this time because of the pain and he told me that the only way I could get out of work is if I didn’t have any arms or legs and had a tube coming out of my throat . Obviously he has no bedside manner . After losing it in his office and telling him how much pain I was in he really acted as if I was just faking the whole thing . I have absolutely no confidence in this… doctor but because it’s Worker’s Comp. I don’t have a choice to go anywhere else if I had a choice I would never see this doctor .
