Dr. Winona Belmonte, MD

Winona Belmonte, MD, is a board-certified adult psychiatrist at Serenity Mental Health Centers. Dr. Belmonte joined Serenity in July of 2020. She brings almost two decades of medical experience and an optimistic patient care approach to all her patients.

Dr. Belmonte earned her medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC) in Quezon City, Philippines. She then completed her residency at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, specializing in psychiatric medicine. She went on to complete a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry and became board-certified in psychiatry. She also gained valuable clinical experience while practicing psychiatry at Partners in Recovery in Mesa, Arizona (now called COPA Health).

Dr. Belmonte’s patient care philosophy is inspired by her confidence in the process of recovery. She believes in educating her patients about their medical and psychiatric illnesses, allowing them to connect and …collaborate with her on developing the best treatment solution. The overall results promote recovery and, in some cases, a total remission of symptoms. She has a passion for addressing severely depressed, anxious, or otherwise affected patients that haven’t found success with traditional methods of treatment. At Serenity, she offers transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy and ketamine therapy to help her patients achieve better functionality and recover from the devastating effects of mental illness.

When Dr. Belmonte isn’t caring for her patients, she enjoys socializing and being around people. She also enjoys singing and the sweet company of her two dogs. Born and raised in the Philippines, she has a passion for traveling and hopes to one day visit her dream locations that she has yet to see in person.

Dr. Belmonte has almost 20 years of clinical experience, specializing in various mental health conditions such as major depressive disorder (MDD), anxiety disorders, social phobia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), postpartum depression, autism spectrum disorders, and eating disorders. She is excited to offer new patients the highest level of care at Serenity Mental Health Centers.
