Dr. SCHIEVINK IS EXCELLENT

I would give 0 stars if I could. Horrible and egotistical bedside manner. Dismissive. Unfriendly, sarcastic. Unhelpful. He couldn’t have cared less about how I feel or what’s going on with me. I had to basically submit a college essay and provide a large packet of imaging, doctors notes, referrals to see him and when I finally did he basically smiled the whole appointment and told me he thinks I’m fine from my imaging even though other doctors greatly disagreed, along with numerous radiologists. Now it’s back to the drawing board and I need to look for help elsewhere. Not only a waste of time but a horrible personality. I was shocked as I typically jive really well with my doctors, even the mildly off ones. Maybe he was having a bad day?

The doctor's bedside manner was confusing at best. I understand why he does not want to proceed with patching my leaks. What I don't understand is why he needed to insinuate that my lumbar puncture was done improperly or question the diagnoses from other specialists. Pretty unprofessional to throw shade at other providers without any real evidence that they've acted in a negligent manner. Definitely does not build trust in the medical system.

Dr S is truly unique. I sent him my files and within a month i am in LA getting an accurate scan which actually showed the problem with surgery the next day. Dr S understands the debilitating result of CSF and works quickly to resolve it. As for bedside manner, he is the most unusual surgeon I have ever met. He actually spent time with me on multiple days while I was recovering to ensure I was doing well. His team was on top of everything while I was at CS and that continued when I got home.

I will be forever grateful for this doctor. I was diagnosed with a CSF leak in early 2019. Dr S got me in for surgery within weeks after sending in my file. I was unable to sit or stand and now I’m pretty much back to normal. I should be to start running again in a couple months. I could never thank him enough.

Sent Dr. All my records & CDs from Drs here in St Louis. Dr Schievink himself called me. Very friendly. Told me what was wrong that no Dr here could figure out. Flew to LA following month for surgery. So happy I found this Dr. Hes the best. Cedars sinea is the most friendly hospital I've ever seen. Surgery was 6 weeks ago. Have no regrets. Dr. Schievink & his staff are the best.

As I described the life-limiting neurological issues I've had for many years, Dr. Schievink actually smirked, as if my suffering was some funny joke. The man is dismissive and lacks empathy. He should find a new line of work.

Our son had an appt. with Dr. Schievink but ended up in emergency prior to the appt. The doctor had done two tests on him after his calling & making an appt. He then refused to speak to OR see our son although he had been sent all of his medicals files pertaining to his problem. He had already been diagnosed with occipital neurologia (sp?). To ignore a patient experiencing such extreme pain is incomprehensible to us. And our son has a baby due in FIVE days! There is NO excuse for his non-actions!!!!!!! He isn't worth recognition of being a physician at Cedars-Sinai!

Dr S could find and fix my leak in 3 days, while no doctor could do so in Miami in 15 months. I am forever great full to him and his staff. He was very efficient and caring along the way. He did not make me wait at all for my first appointment and even gave me several options for my procedures. I wish more doctors were like him.

Dr. Schievink was able to locate a spontaneous spinal fluid leak in my back that no other doctor I met with could locate. He also performed surgery on me to fix it. It was a long recovery, but well worth it, as the headaches I was experiencing were debilitating. I'm very fortunate to have found him. Traveled from TN to L.A. to see him.
