Dr. Wui-Jin Jin Koh, MD

Dr. Koh is not only one of the best in his field, he is a wonderful human being. He listened to me, respected and supported my decisions and made a long treatment plan easier with his kindness and humor. Most importantly, he is one of the best practitioners in his field. and has the respect of his peers. My oncologist surgeon told me that if she ever needed radiation, she would fly in to see him from anywhere in the world. SCCA and the Seattle area is lucky to have him.

My cancer (daily radiation for 35 days and double chemo) treatment was an arduous journey. If you decide to accept treatment for stage IVa squamous cell cancer (lousy odds for any response and my diagnosis), you need a doctor who you trust and can communicate with you at your level understanding. I am a retired medical researcher and was questioning undergoing any treatment. I had a very negative experience with some of the first doctors I saw. After my initial appointment with Dr. Koh, knowing that radiation and chemo were my only chance, I was encouraged by his detailed plans for my treatment. He communicated with me at the level of a scientist and I found myself fascinated by the science. During treatment he was kind and compassionate, always there for me through any setbacks and all of my many and constant concerns. My response to treatment was unexpected and a wonder. Expecting at most a 30% reduction in a large tumor size, at the end of treatment. After 8 weeks, the… tumor was 'not there'. The tumor was not found on physical exam nor on MRI. Now 9 months post treatment I am back to my 'new normal', my blood counts are normal, I have my stamina/strength back and am both happy and grateful for this respite, however long it lasts. For my life, I cannot thank Dr. Koh and his outstanding staff enough. For treatment plans, medical knowledge, experience, compassion, kindness, caring, continuity of care, and the best communication skills, Dr. Koh is the only radiation oncologist that I would allow to treat me. I still see him for follow up.

The best decision I made during cancer treatment was to go out of state for radiation under Dr. Koh at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. His attentiveness, compassion, expertise, and precision was unsurpassed. I recommend him without reservation.

Dr. Koh was one member of my medical team at SCCA, and I give him all the credit for finally ending my struggle with stage 4 pancreas cancer. After a lot of chemotherapy and radical surgery Dr. Koh was able to design an IMRT program that got rid of the last threat. He is such a wonderful teacher I can't imagine a patient not understanding the risks and possible side effects after talking with him. He is a very compassionate doctor who is willing to take whatever time necessary to help the patient understand and feel comfortable with the radiation program prescribed. He has always been available to me for odd bits of medical advice or simply a hug. I have given many cancer patients who are afraid of radiation his name for consults, because he explains everything so well. Some risk comes with any cancer treatment, but I was willing to accept the risk in order to get rid of the cancer. I have been cancer-free for over 6 years.

If only I could give Dr. Koh 10 stars, he deserves way more than 4! I believe 100% that he saved my life! Not only is he a brilliant doctor, but he is one of the kindest men I have ever met. I felt like I was his only patient and I never felt rushed when I came in for an appointment with my long list of questions. He even called one evening to check on me when I was having severe side effects from treatment. I would not hesitate for one minute in referring a loved one of mine to Dr. Koh!

Dr. Koh is thoughtful, caring, thorough, and trustworthy. I feel so fortunate to have found him as he truly saved my life. He made a very scary time in my life much easier to get through. My side effects were minimal at the time and I feel great now. I would recommend him to anyone needing radiation with no reservations.

This physician is by far the most honorable man I've ever met in the medical field. He's not only one of the best experts in his field... he's the most kind person. His "Bedside" manner is sensitive, understanding yet professional. If anyone would ever need serious treatment like I did for "cancer" he's your number one Choice. Dr. Wui-Jin Koh is First Class and fortunate I found him during a very difficult and scary time in my life.

You might have to wait to see Dr. Koh but it is worth the wait. He is the most qualified Radiation Oncologist in the Seattle Area. He answered all of my questions and put me into remission with minimal side effects. I would whole heartedly recommend Dr Koh.

He was my lead dr. when I had treatments for cancer at the UofW Medical Center in Seattle. During the entire treat period I only saw once at the beginning and then again when I had to hunt him down to ask about my radiation/chemo side effects. As a result of his treatments I've suffered for 15 years. He also does not follow up on his patients after treatments. His entire cancer unit kept me in the dark during my entire time there.
