Dr. Xiangyang Li, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Li for several years now. After my last visit I will NEVER see him again. He has absolutely NO personality, is rude, and NEVER looks you in the eye. He just stares at his computer monitor like he's in another world. He is also very difficult to understand. I am far from racist, but after being here for so many years, he should speak better English. You have to be able to communicate with your patients. He talks over you. I have only gone to him because I live in Milford. I just learned that he got his medical degree in China, not here. He then went to work for the V.A. here. We know what kind of doctors work there . . . Now he's trying to make big and quick money with some MRI type thing for depression - TMS? Uh huh! I would say the majority of his patients are heroin addicts, going there for Suboxone or Methadone. That's not a problem, but going to his waiting room can often be a strange experience, believe me. I initially saw him… for depression. I thought he was just alright. As time went on, after being on Clonazepam (Klonopin) (used only as a sleep aid), he told me that he couldn't prescribe it anymore because I was over 65 and it can cause dementia. I told him that should be MY choice. I don't want to wake up at 2 AM and have to lie there for hours and hours for the rest of my life. He said this was a medication you take for a few months "not for the rest of your life." I told him I would sign whatever was necessary to release him of any responsibility should become demented :). The last time I saw him, he said I should do a lot of exercise during the day so I wouldn't HAVE to take something for sleep. Imagine! I am on an antidepressant and he basically told me I must develop a more positive view on life. This is a psychiatrist or psycho pharmacologist)?? I am 69 years old, certainly not a child. This "doctor" talks down to you like a child. He snears, he talks over you. He laughs inappropriately when you say something. He is very disrespectful - I think he does this more with women, I believe. He reduced the dose of my medication (the lowest dose) and inferred that I should find another doctor because he "could get in trouble" for prescribing the medication. He inferred he would be retiring soon and he wouldn't be there for me. He threw the prescription for the Klonopin on the corner of his desk and basically threw me out of his office. When the girl at the front desk (who is so sweet) looked at me for my next appointment I said I would not be coming back. When I walked out of there my blood pressure was high. I have heard of many psychiatrists in the area and I plan on seeing one of them. This guy is not a good doctor and has the WORST bedside manner. I think a lot of his patients are on Mass Health and he's trying to make money. He should be working in a Chinese restaurant, not treating and interacting with PEOPLE. The only good thing I can say about him is his staff. The girls are very pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately, he is on the other end of the spectrum. DO NOT SEE THIS MAN.

Dr. Li is wonderful. Understanding, caring, very thorough in explaining concepts and what is known as to causes of mental issues. Excellent diagnosos skills, excellent perscription skills, very patient and caring. The bast!
