Dr. Xu Zhang Chen, MD

She is the worst psychiatrist I have ever seen. Not only did she let patient wait 1-2 hours after the appointment time, she was very arrogant, proud, and lacking empathy. Not only did she not listen to the patient's feelings, but she constantly criticizes the patient's personality and mental state. In the case that her use of medicine made the patient condition worse, she did not know how to improve, but directly asked the patient to change doctor, which is really not worthy of being a psychiatrist.

Only give patients medicine, wait 3 hours 5 minutes done, NOT recommended at all. Hope Medical license Department or government will catch what she s doing

Just wants to milk insurance and just wastes your time. What a jerk

If you are a concerned parent trying to get your child professional mental help, then I do NOT suggest this doctor. My mom had the best intentions when she urged me to go in high school. I was in a specialized HS, and was self harming. This was a convenient location to 8th Ave, so my mom implored me to go see Dr Chen. It was the most traumatic experience of my life, and I still seeking therapy for the emotional damage Chen had caused me. I regularly saw her and another talk therapist for a few months. She was overzealously prescribing me mood stabilizing and anti-depression medication. I had bad side effects: I was extremely angry, horrible mood swings, insomnia worsened, and self-harming behavior increased. She didn’t care. She spoke to me for a few minutes, dismissed my legitimate concerns about side effects, and wrote me another prescription. The last time I saw her, I left in tears. She doubted my self-harm because she never saw my cuts, and told me I was unwilling to seek help. I… was extremely vulnerable as a minor, and this broke my trust in therapists for a long, long time. I left the office bawling so hard that my friend who was waiting for me outside told me that this is a toxic therapist who is more concerned about her profits than her patients. I tried to forget this traumatic experience for so long, but I recently came across her name while googling for nearby therapists. I had to warn others because a bad therapist can really destroy a person’s ability and willingness to seek help in the future.

She only prescribed medicine, not really wants to talk to the patients, wait time 3 hours at least but only no more than 5 minutes with the Doctor

I have been seeing Dr. Chen since 2006. She has been critical in helping me deal with bipolar disorder. Not only does she listen sympathetically and gives me clear instructions. I feel like she truly cares about me as a person. Her help extends beyond the simple treatment room. In cases of emergencies, she is always available to me. Sometimes across the ocean. When I was on the verge of another mania attack in another country, I was able to reach her and she gave me very clear instructions and recommendations which were able to calm me down even to help me reach out to receive treatment in the nearby psychiatric hospital. She also responds to my email inquiries and I feel like has been truly helpful. In addition to her psychiatry services, she has also referred me to additional counselling services which better suit my immediate, non-psychiatric needs. She is truly helpful.

This doctor is very , very unprofessional .... I went to her to get clearance for work and i told her I had a certain amount of time to do it... She was lying to me and trying to con me to tell me I need to see her a several times before I can get clearance .... When I told her I did not have that amount of time and she said she could fit me in between appointments , but would Have to CHARGE me double the money .... She also maded it clear at first it was not a money issue because I was paying in cash ... Total Contradiction .... I do not recommend this doctor to Anybody .... Not only was she not professional , her staff was not polite at all.... She is not an honest doctor and not trust worthy at all....

I spent 2+ Hours waiting for my appointment when I was 30 minutes early. She prescribed a medication after talking to me for about 5 minutes AFTER I told her that I wasn't comfortable with that particular medication because I'd had adverse effects the last time I'd taken it. She completely ignored the reason I was there and was biased about my reasons when she didn't take the time to talk to me.

His evaluation of my daughter was anything but professional. Nothing he said was of any value or substance. Even my friends and family members have better analysis of her adhd condition. What offended me the most was that fact that he stated there is no prescribed treatment available just after a few very simple straight forward questions. ADHD is not an untreatable condition. By far, this doctor is the worst and most incompetent we've ever visited. It was a big waste of time!
