Does not listen to patient. Prescribes drugs that are not approved for diagnosis.

I know Dr. Raj both as a colleague and as a patient. I saw the negative review on this site and had to respond. He deals with the some of the most challenging patients in Portland particularly when he is wearing his psychiatrist hat. Limit-setting with some patients can be challenging - but he does it with exemplary empathy. More than that, he is a well-decorated teacher and mentor to the next generation of students and residents. Review sites can paint a misleading picture when disgruntled patients post on them. Dr. Raj is everything I could ever want in a physician and I entrust my family to his care - enough said.

They were obviously written by the same person trying to over shadow the the first negative review. At least they didn't write it on the same day. This ego maniac of a doctor actually helps the pharmaceutical companies more than the patients. Do your research people. Check out doctors for dollars and see how much this guy makes writing scripts that people down need. Ruined my life for 3 years with medication mismanagement and an incorrect diagnosis so he could prescribe. Watch out if he wants to try out the latest best drug on you. It just means thats what he is pushing at the moment. Google is your friend. Dig and you will find there are safer doctors out there not in it for the money. The highest paid doctor in Oregon (by big pharma) - I agree with the first review. Agenda? Abso-freakin-lutely

Dr. Raj is extremely skilled in the practice of medicine and psychiatry. He is the person to whom doctors send their patients when they get stumped. It is difficult to get an appointment with him, but well worth the wait. He is amazing. I have to laugh at the first review...Dr. Raj is no nonsense and sets limits with psych patients when needed. I have to wonder if that is what happened with the first reviewer. I have never heard anything but words of praise for Dr. Raj's bedside manner and skills as a physician.

Dr. Raj helped me through a very tough time in my life - both medically and psychiatrically. He embodies all of the qualities that a great doctor should be - compassionate, willing to listen, and presents medical information in a way that is easy to understand. You will NOT be dissapointed. The only downside is that appointments with Dr. Raj may be hard to come by since he is one of the most popular docs in Portland.

Don't see this guy - total quack. Horrible bedside manner. Completely willing to screw up a patient's medication regimen to push his own agenda. Doesn't listen to patients and berates patients in public open areas. This guy should have his medical license revoked.
