Dr. Yadiera Marie Brown, MD

I really thought she was special. I really thought she cared. I really was mistaken. I've been her patient for a number of years and last year I suffered a devastating injury. She was my first phone call and never personally spoke to me. She had her assistant call me back with what turned out to be bad advice, and never once in the full year of my recovery and rehab did she ever show the simple human courtesy of inquiring about how I was doing, despite that she was copied on all the MRI's, X-rays and other reports. She could have phoned, emailed or sent me a one-line note through her own portal, but radio silence. Shame on her!

My recent visit with Dr. Brown was fantastic. She patiently listened to all my concerns and thoroughly reviewed the plan of care. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Brown is probably the worst doctor I've had in my entire life. I truly can't imagine a doctor who cares less about their patients well-being and I just hope no one else makes the same mistake I did in trusting her for their healthcare. I had last seen her just before the pandemic started so I made an appointment for the next week to get my annual exam. However, while I was waiting for my appointment I also ran out of a prescription that I needed renewed - birth control that I have been taking every day for over 10 years. Instead of refilling the prescription like any reasonable doctor would (and the pharmacist shocked that she wouldn't), Dr. Brown refused to refill because it had been "too long" (mind you - the past year and a half we have been in the middle of a pandemic - and I had an appointment scheduled to see her in a week). For the first time in 10 years I will be off my prescription while I look for a new doctor thanks to the complete and utter apathy of Dr. Brown.

I was recommended to Dr. Brown by several friends and they advised me how detail oriented and thorough she is. I forwarded my prior medical records to her office prior to my scheduled New Patient Annual Exam with her so that she could review my records. I’m almost 60 years old so this seemed the prudent thing to do and I’m glad I did. We were both quickly able to go through my prior medical history and highlight areas of concern. Dr. Brown gave me evidenced based recommendations for my health needs and provided several easy to locate information sources for my family and I by directing me to search engines I could use online. She answered all of my questions and actually told me to text myself if upon leaving the office I remembered that I forgot to ask her about something, so that we could circle back to it later. Her medical assistant and secretary are both friendly and accommodating. I imagine that there will always be those who can’t be pleased by a Doctor but this Doctor goes… above and beyond for her patients. I’ve read a few reviews that say “I felt rushed by the Doctor . . . I wished I had more time with the doctor”. These comments compelled me to write this review. Dr. Brown actually runs on time which I greatly appreciate!!!!!! Of course I would like to spend 2 hours with her but everyone needs to be realistic in their expectations of what can be done during a 15 or 30 min appointment as it pertains to obtaining your history and doing a physical exam, and if needed EKG and blood work. To everyone who felt rushed, please go elsewhere and leave her available for all the friends and family I’ve already referred her to. I see how hard this young woman works and she is certainly one of a dying breed of medical doctors who truly care about their patients. I hope to have her as my PCP for the rest of my life.

Dr. Yadira Brown is condescending and she interrupts you when you are speaking to her about conditions. I have lived with my disease for over a decade and she refused to listen to me and told me to google my disease. I did.... It said exactly what I told her. I sent her letters with the google print outs from the CDC, WHO, and WebMD. I find it frustrating that I have to educate my doctor. I will never return to her or recommend her.

There's speed-dating and then there's speed-doctoring. Dr Brown zips in and out and before you have time to ask any questions, she's waltzed right out the room.

During my visits, Dr. Brown has been quick and efficient without making me feel rushed or unheard. I feel she truly cares about my health and well-being. She explains my test results and any further diagnostics needed as well as the treatment. She expresses joy in follow-ups when things turn for the better and they have! I never doubt that she will point me in the right direction.

Dr. BROWN IS WONDERFUL, KIND AND VERY CONCERNED ABOUT HER PATIENTS, HOWEVER, ITS IS UNFORTUNATE THAT HER OFFICE IT'S AT MURRAY HILL GROUP. THE SUPPORT SYSTEM IS TERRBLE, TAKES A LONG TIME TO GET SOMEONE ON THE LINE OTHER THAN A RECORDING BESIDES THEY ARE NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER THREE WEEKS FOR THEM TO PROCESS A PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FOR MY BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS!!!! THE EXCUSE, THEIR FAX MACHINE IS NOT WORKING AND THEY CAN'T RECEIVE THE FORM TO COMPLETE FOR THE INSURANCE COMPANY, REALLY???? SUGGESTIONS BY THE STAFF, BUY IT OUT OF YOUR POCKET AND WHEN THE MATTER IS RESOLVED YOU WILL GET REIMBUSED... IS SHE GOING TO GIVE ME THE MONEY TO PAY FOR IT??

Dr. Brown is terrific. When I saw her for my initial visit she took the time to ask very detailed questions about my personal and family history which I greatly appreciated given my Family history of Breast Cancer. She checked me from head to toe for my physical exam including a skin screen. I received a phone call from the doctor herself with my lab results within 1 week. I hope she stays in NYC for as long as I am here.
