Urgent Warning to Parents I am extremely upset and disappointed with the care my one-year-old son received at this urgent care. I brought my son in because he had been sick with a fever and other symptoms. The doctor examined him and told me that it was just a virus and sent us home without antibiotics or any other treatment. I trusted that medical advice. The very next day, my son was diagnosed with two full-blown ear infections and a ruptured eardrum. What makes this even more upsetting is that during the urgent-care visit, the doctor performed a flu test by putting a swab extremely far into my one-year-old son’s nose. My son was crying and clearly distressed during the procedure. As a parent, I was extremely uncomfortable watching how far the swab was inserted, especially considering how young he is. I understand that doctors cannot diagnose everything perfectly, but this was not a minor mistake. My child had a serious ear infection that progressed to the point of rupturing his… eardrum, and we were sent home being told it was simply a virus. Parents, please advocate for your children. If you know something isn’t right, get a second opinion. Don’t be afraid to question a diagnosis or seek another doctor if your child’s condition is getting worse. I personally will never take my child back to this provider, and I feel other parents deserve to know about my experience before trusting this doctor with their young children.

I took my daugher to er with a temp of 105, low bp, and a red rash... he diagnosed mono and sent her home. Next day she had to be life flighted for toxic shock syndrom. Too many mistakes to be discussed here but know that Akron Childrens Hospital did nothing but bury my complaints about this doctor.
