Dr. Yakov D Shaposhnikov, MD

Dr. Shaposhnikov severed my intestines during a routine colonoscopy, and failed to notice his error. I was septic within 24 hours and am happy to be alive. As a result of this i had to get a colostomy, and after that an ileostomy. I have lived over a year of hell. Thank you Dr. Shaposhnikov.

Terrible experience. Provider refused to listen to anything I had to say after the wrong procedure was performed after i gave records of what needed to be done that i had done previous that help me feel better still feel bad as of today a waste of day off from work and time. Talk over me when i asked why was a biopsy done instead was told i can go somewhere else . I am so stress out now that i still feel the same and cant eat and paid now i got to go see another gastro doctor to get a stretch done overall made me uncomfortable.

Performed first colonoscopy per family history of colon cancer. Seemed alright.

Excellent A+ job with my colonoscopy procedure and he and his staff made me feel at ease (as I was extremely terrified) I'd absolutely go to him again.

Regardless of the circumstances, there is absolutely no excuse for treating a patient so rudely. The doctor asked questions, then spoke over me as I tried to answer. He would not listen, and he would not allow me to speak. When I persisted in trying to speak, he raised his voice. As I left the examination room, I saw the patient in the next room looking at me wide-eyed, and I know he heard everything. I felt humiliated and my gastric condition felt worse from the stress. Many years ago I was in an abusive marriage, and I left the office feeling exactly the way I felt then - very low and somehow at fault. It's never the patients fault when the doctor behaves that way. He might be a good doctor when it comes to gastric conditions, but he is a poor doctor when it comes to the emotional health of his patients. For my own well being I will never go back.

He has a lot of knowledge. I feel much better. Thank you, doctor.

Worst experience of my life My colonospy was a disaster

Wait time 1 hour 45 mins. Doctor's response to "you're late" was "oh well." 4 minutes with doctor. Very rude. Asks questions but won't let you answer. Talks about other patients. Gives preference to those who speak Eastern European languages and lies to those of us he thinks can't understand those conversations that by the way we can hear through the walls. Obviously does not care about patients. Didn't answer a single question I asked. Displays very inappropriate cartoons in exam room. Insulted me 3 times in 4 minutes and still had time to gossip about other patients. He needs to retire and stop wasting people's time.

My wife had an appointment with Dr. Shaposhnikov and i the husband went with her. The dr. Overbooks and we arrived a half hour early for her appt. We waited an hour in that little room before he came in. Immediately we could tell that he was in a hurry. He actually went in to the wrong room and saw a patient ehose appt was a half hour after ours before he saw us. When we finally got to talk to him he interrupted my wife constantly as if he already knew what she was going to say. After our appt. He tried to get me on His side asif my wife was the problem. She was nothing but pleasant with him. He may be a good dr but what a jerk!
